If you're gonna go the route of relativism then I will remind we're talking about a hobby, and that games are a luxury. There are many more important things in life than getting many levels of pissed at a company defending its property.
As to how many would have been purchased, that is always...
You know it's interesting. I keep hearing that argument in the defense of guns.
The thing is...
Most knife owners don't use them to kill users.
In comparison when TotK was released Yuzu's popularity and support allegedly went all the way up during the time of the prerelease when playing this...
I agree with the sentiment but once again, people who pirate current gen games that aren't even released yet are clear evidence that they do not own it.
And for people that tease Nintendo day after day on twitter about how they're playing pirated games I highly doubt its a wage issue.
I'm from the 80s, I think low resolution on blurry CTR has a certain charm to it, but that's beside the point.
I don't defend Nintendo going after emulators. Heck no. Nowhere did I do that. I think emulators should be protected because at this time they are the only way to preserve the gameplay...
I mean I went to look at your original post again and you definitely talk about "people's right" when it comes to playing video games, which... yeah no, still not it.
I agree that the law is shit when it comes to not fully owning what you buy, or be able to rip it and do whatever you want. In...
Ah yes, I must apologize, I'm no hero, It takes a whole lot of courage to play games for free and defy the company that makes them.
In the name of preservation, of course :)
Nothing you said had anything to do with "people's rights".
"Pirating a game because it doesn't cost them anything" isn't a right.
"Testing a game before buying" isn't a right.
Entertainment is a luxury, there is no "right" to be automatically granted access to it.
It's a lesson people normally...
You should check your definition of customer. A pirate that uses an emulator, download and play games on that emulator is not a customer. That's factually wrong.
Even if you own the console and buy no game, you're not a customer of these games. You didn't pay for it, you don't own it, so you...
The main problem of Nintendo is being overly protective of its IPs, which negatively affects our community many customers here. By "customers" though it doesn't includes pirates, which by definition aren't customers and don't really get a say in any of this.
I'm sure there are other problems...
If you want to say that piracy is a service issue, I agree.
But again, I fail to see how the immature behavior of taunting Nintendo on all of their tweets is helping the community whatsoever. They want the company to change while giving it more reasons to go after the community?
If we want to...
Whether we like it or not the only way we're ever going to get progress on legal game preservation is by working with Nintendo.
They are -not- going to die because a bunch of passionate people want to make them pay for shutting down emulators.
And honestly, we all complain but we all want them...
Really doubt it was the price hike, you could get the game at $50 with another game using the vouchers.
Like I don't like what they're doing but let's not kid ourselves here.
The two things I'll remember is how i got excited twice and immediately annoyed.
First with the Star Wars games. They release them all EXCEPT the Nintendo exclusives that are Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike.
And then by showing the Rare logo without Rare Replay or some of the games everyone is...
They have decades of games to rerelease, starting with gamecube games which are in high demand.
Releasing the console with retro compatibility of a console that's sold over 140M is way more profitable than a few potential unwanted remasters, as it ensures a smooth transition and easier...
Trump is worse, so much worse, but Trump is basically Homelander. It doesn't matter what he does, it doesn't matter all the evidence that he works for him and himself only, he has his cult in his pocket.
i'm almost more angry with the dems to be honest. Why keeping Biden in, he's too old...
I may try the new ram site, and download more RAM to my Switch. Not sure if ddr3 is the right ram
for it tho. Edit- no it uses floppy Ram, just like @AncientBoi
