Long story short, charging port is messed up and want to replace/add a type c charger instead.
(Hardware: Old 3ds)

1st : ive seen a couple modding videos/guides a bit and most of them conenct their usb c port to the Ground and VBUS port, what does the other port do? Can i just leave them hanging? What was their original purpose?

2nd: i think this usb c module works, 5v rating works on 3.6v and has protection, i just dont know where to connect them. The image just says B+ goes to the positive and B- goes to the negative (which lead me to the last question)

3rd : is the VBUS and GROUND just (+) and (-) Connections? Is that what they actually mean?

Any wisdom and knowledge would be cool :]

1: the outermost ones are for the charging cradle connectors, the inner two are probably for structure but even if they aren't they have to be redundant since the charging cable only has 2 wires.

2: vbus should connect to b- and gnd to b+, but you really shouldn't be trying to substitute parts if you're unsure of something like that

3: no, gnd is most certainly ground. vbus, who knows. Remember that none of these names are official.

If you want to save some effort. Theres a bunch of prefabbed usb c replacements you can buy for all 3ds models on Etsy and eBay.

You can certainly do it manually as well, but figured you might want another option :)

Thanks, i tried finding what the rest were but nobody mentioned it

This module is pretty common in my area i couldnt find specific ones like in most tutorials, and since i live on the otherside of world buying stuff from amazon and such is expensive. Chinese stuff will do (or atleast i hope so)
