    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

@MrHB not as much as before. The newest, stable release is on github: https://github.com/dbeef/spelunky-ds/releases I was planning on some controls.txt file that you could drop on your card alongside .nds file, but currently changing controls would be a matter of recompiling game from source code.

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Hey @Waygeek and @H1B1Esquire! Somehow missed your replies, sorry for that. The original content is limited to the cave level, it goes endlessly. I am still adding some small things, like the golden idol or boulder, but got a regular job and after now slightly more than a year of SpelunkyDS I'm...

darkNiGHTS, thanks! Alas I'm aware of these bugs, sorry for the inconvenience, but they're going to be there at least untill next week (I'm just being busy since a month or so but it's fortunately an endgame and I'll be back on SpelunkyDS). Btw, I ordered a DSi XL last week so it's going to be...

Homebrew Streaming PC desktop to NDS

Well, it's rather a lolprogram than something useful, but recently I've written a simple client-server program that can do this: it just sends screenshots via lz77 compressed bitmaps that are scaled to 256px (or 128px like in the linked video) rather than using i.e mpeg4, but I think it's...

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Great, If I can ask you, please make camera in a sort of stable position, so I could make a short gif from the video that I could paste on project's github page. The latest version is "Development July" https://github.com/dbeef/spelunky-ds/releases/tag/1.1DSi%2B%2B

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Thanks! Indeed MaxMod it is, problem is I've got only .ogg files (that I converted to .wav to be usable) from the Spelunky Community Update Project: https://github.com/tyrovc/SpelunkyCommunityUpdateProject/tree/master/static_resources/sound As as far as I know there's no way to convert .ogg to...

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Robz8, I love you so much. It worked perfectly, I just copied DSiMenu++ files to my R4 and that was it. I don't even have to use NitroFS! No streaming from filesystem. Anyways, new release of SpelunkyDS this week!

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Huh, didn't know that! Totally will try it, I am such a newbie in terms of bootstraping homebrew apps. Thing is, I'm currently changing my job and doing driver's license, alas, I recently did no feedback with SpelunkyDS, had busy time (but don't think the project is abandoned or something!).

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Thanks! I've got some feeling on where I messed up the code so no need for logs (as they're not even created, lol). I will fix it probably this week (I feel bad for releasing next version too early but at the same time it adds some fine features).

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

I've been playing a bit since the last upload and found out there's a new bug that may rarely cause changing palette colors on the bottom screen which makes game looks funny but unplayable, sorry for inconvenience Edit: I did a short video highlighting things that I added in this version...

I've just uploaded a new version both here and on Github, what's new is: * Shop + shopkeeper * Arrow traps * Better level generator * A few bugfixes and even more new bugs  Regarding music, I still didn't work it out, sorry for that. If anyone of you have a 3DS XL / New NDS 2 XL / NDSi...

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

I do the code mostly weekends or after work, so the progress won't be amazing (I am learning libnds since February, and making SpelunkyDS since March) but I like it much and the project will continue

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Multiple short sounds like whip, bomb or jetpack are implemented - I had music for a while but it stretched binary size to over 3.3 MB and it could not be run anymore (weird errors on moonshell) - then I've read about nitrofs, didn't know it works in a way it appends the binary with sounds so I...

    Homebrew SpelunkyDS

Homebrew port of the PC game Spelunky Classic made by myself. Not yet done (there are jungle, snow, and lava city levels to be implemented) but already much work is done! :) I attach the .nds but if anyone wanted to see the most recent version and the code, it's on my github...

I know the pricing of electronics nowadays isn't "how much it actually costs" but "how much we can get away with", but putting up a poll is just cynical.

Nah I'm getting value creep again. I look at a $50 console "but for just a few more dollars you could get XYZ" and I end up considering the Steam Deck.
