Homebrew SCFW: Bleeding-edge modular kernel branch

ANNOUNCEMENT: There is an on-going collaboration between @metroid maniac and I. Currently, I'm tasked to add features such as Goomba. Others such as PocketNES might be included later on. INFO: If you're unaware of what the SCFW project is, please check the main thread under the "Connected...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Your assumption is correct, @JORGETECH. That is the same OFW.FRM I used to build the SCKill-OFW ROM on post#303. Just look at my flash sample pics on post#306. I got two cards from different sellers just to verify if it works and they both show different ID's. You can use the ofw.frm file(found...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Yep, I had to flash twice. Twice the charm as they say . What I did notice though is that the Flash ID seems to change constantly, but the end-result is achieved at least. EDIT: Apart from the name of the *.frm file(and replacing the firmware.frm with ofw.frm), I had to modify some of the...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

I did try replacing the firmware.frm file with ofw.frm, recompiled the source(from Apache Thunder's version 1.0 from github), and then flashed it afterwards. Guess what... It WORKED FOR ME! I'm attaching a copy of the modified SCKill ROM that should restore the SuperCard to OFW v1.85. (DO NOT...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Perfect! I was able to test this on my DS and it works without using those rare 2GB transflash cards. A great alternative to install SCFW without side loading the firmware & kernel manually. Thanks for this, @moon_rabbit 😁 Also, I created a tutorial involving the SCKill ROM. Seek chapters...

Feedback Omega Flash D.E. (Rev B) & EXEQ Gamebox SP compatibility

Thanks for checking the post! I'd just like to add that the BIOS logo is either stopped(unable to boot?) or skipped(?). I'm not sure if the white screen indicates either scenario as it isn't able to get past it. My wild guess is that it's the EZ flash splash screen, but the logo will not show...

Feedback Omega Flash D.E. (Rev B) & EXEQ Gamebox SP compatibility

Yikes... It's pretty obvious the two premium flash carts are head-2-head here. As for clone console compatibility, I have to say that the EVERDRIVE GBA MINI / EVERDRIVE X5 MINI wins in this case. I'm not sure if the original 1st release(Rev A) of the definitive edition works on the EXEQ...

Feedback Omega Flash D.E. (Rev B) & EXEQ Gamebox SP compatibility

I've been using my EXEQ Gamebox SP for quite some time already and I'm already hooked since it's compatible with other flash carts. However, what struck me as odd here is this flash cartridge does not boot on clone consoles. There are reports of the Everdrive X5 mini and the SuperCard CF/SD...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Assuming the SuperCard SD isn't bricked, you can enter diagnostics mode by holding both the L and R trigger buttons while the GBA is off then flip the power switch. It should show some self-test prompts provided that you haven't flashed SCFW firmware.

Hacking Emulation EXEQ Gamebox BIOS dump for possible emulation purposes?

Seems it has the same wait time as my Gamebox minus the EXEQ logo(Appears invisible on the emulator). Was able to check using NanoBoyAdvance. Thanks a bunch for the suggestion and for confirming that it works! Now we have an alternative BIOS for GBA emulation :yaysp:

Hacking Emulation EXEQ Gamebox BIOS dump for possible emulation purposes?

I think we found a very USEFUL loophole here :D. I've already dumped the GBA bios from my DS PHAT and compared it to the hash-sums online and it matches. I also tried loading the EXEQ Gamebox bios via mGBA, but it can't seem to run it since there are "integrity checks(?)" and an exception is...

Hacking Emulation EXEQ Gamebox BIOS dump for possible emulation purposes?

Alright. So, we all know in this forum that anything copyrighted such as BIOS, ROMs, miscellaneous software, etc... Is a huge NO-NO. HOWEVER, no one said anything about the legality of dumping a not completely accurate GBA clone's BIOS. Since the K1 GBA SP / EXEQ Gamebox SP has a few quirks...

SuperFW: a (very much WIP) supercard firmware

I ran davidgf's kernel by renaming the "firmware" file to kernel.gba and placed it inside the scfw folder(thus replacing the SCFW kernel). It's practically a frankenstein-ish combination of metroid-maniac's firmware/loader & davidgf's kernel

SuperFW: a (very much WIP) supercard firmware

I took the risk to load your kernel and I do like the UI so far (already backed up my files just in case ~ heh). Seems SuperFW doesn't recognize the save files from SCFW as the latter saves in the directory where the ROM file is located. For yours, the target directory for saves appears to be...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

I don't think that's part of the scope of the homebrew project itself... Typically, just copying the sdcard/TF files to another directory/storage medium is in itself a backup already since the firmware's kernel is designed to be plug-n-play. As long as the directory "scfw" is found in the root...

Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

Hello Metroid, I'd like to report that SDHC cards(128 GB - SanDisk brand) work on the super card SD with your custom firmware. So far, it works like a charm. The issues mentioned previously might be related to the sdcard itself. Based on my experience, flashcarts behave differently depending on...
