Emulation Using my 3DSXL as a controller for Desmume

Hello peeps, I'm about be driven up the wall after trying for ages to get the homebrew to work
Currently I am able to use the homebrew itself for controlling everything with the buttons.
However when I use the touchscreen, my system doesn't seem to register my taps.
I can still use the 3dsxl touchscreen to move the mouse around, but i can't click on anything
I've been searching the forum for an answer but every time it's solved with no solution listed.
