I've put together a couple of files that will let you bootstrap the Homebrew Menu on the iEvo. This'll let you get on with writing homebrew without messing about with ill advised workarounds.
The power button will exit back to hbmenu, as will the volume buttons - they all generate the same interrupt and I haven't yet got around to looking for the appropriate registers to deal with this. Team Cyclops could save me a lot of time by sharing their method.
[edit]: oops, forgot to say, boot.nds needs to be on the root of your sd.
