I'm just hopeful that the devs will make the Switch version perform much better with future updates, so I can stick with it. But right now, I'm already late into the game, despite its nagging issues with the sticky menu and random freezing or crashing.
In its current state, playing the game on the Switch feels uncomfortable. Not only does the menu feel sticky, but the game tends to crash or freeze randomly, too. It's quite a painful experience, sometimes.
I've been using Tinleaf, which too has not been updated since 2021, for years. It, too, does exhibit an issue installing an update or DLC from time to time. But the app will inform you about it since an error will pop out indicating the issue. I'd rather prefer that than believe that an update...
Not the games as a whole per se, but I think the combat presentation in every Earthbound/Mother game has not aged well. I remember that, while I was enjoying the adventure in each title, I wished they all had better combat visuals, especially when using ESP skills.
