Its at the exact same time they had to implement alternate appstores in the EU. They are taking away one of the biggest draws that would lead people to altstores.
Bans are primarily for invalid certificates, not perfect duplicates of valid ones. Blocking valid dupes is the better practice but we will have to see what happens.
Why do they pretend to be from Russia, why do they pretend this device isn't intended for piracy? They think in vain it will somehow stave off the legal assault.
Eh this is likely more a restriction ultimately stemming from Nintendo. MiG needs the full security picture to fool them on an unmodified system. You make your own stuff you aren't going to have a valid cert.
We know who these guys are and they certainly do not give a fig about enforcing real...
Legally they can do this, but I think practically they would not because they will have to deal with one frustrated customer per each one instance of piracy. It makes the cure worse than the disease.
This is why I bet they only go after games that get hundreds+ duplicate IDs because they are...
That would instantly vaporize faith in buying used anything, diminishing legit consumer's ability to resell as well, which degrades the whole point of physical releases. Its not going to be acceptable to consumers if putting a legit cart from gamestop into a legit system earns you a permanent...
This guy hacked rockstar from his hotel room on a Fire stick with police outside while he was on bail for hacking NVIDIA. He's unlikely to stop in spite of getting caught again and again. Forced hospital is a mercy compared to having him constantly jailed/fined because he immediately crimes...
If its straight up spoofing a cart, and you somehow avoid a ban, should be able to download and interface with DLC and updates on your Switch NAND or SD card. Obviously no eshop games though.
Having to pop the cart is an annoyance but its the same thing you have to do with real physical carts...
Spawnwave doesn't claim seeing this himself in that news video, he's just pointing to Voultar's tweet who seems to have some info beyond the publicly shared video. Voultar is a highly accomplished retro modder and hearing from him is all I need to know that this is real working hardware, though...
Headphone support was the last major issue I was holding out on, this is some great progress. Seems like VC has been basically surpassed at this point.
95% of models are from small Chinese startups that offer zero support and just get cranked out every year with minimal testing as designs-in-progress. Steam Deck, ROG Ally, and this Lenovo product are the only ones in a different class of design effort, sales volume and support, so if you care...
I may try the new ram site, and download more RAM to my Switch. Not sure if ddr3 is the right ram
for it tho. Edit- no it uses floppy Ram, just like @AncientBoi
