    Why do you rebuild playlists ? Did you add some systems ? Tools like Notepad++ are very useful with replace functionality for updating core and roms paths, and also core name, and db reference (playlist name).

Start incremental, begin update RA look what are the changes, and really just delete bezels directory, and switch to ozone if you want to, and you will start to play with : RetroArch Playlist Editor and Online Retroarch Playlist Generator.     It's wrong. My base is this crazy mac build.I'm with Retroarch 1.16.0, I kept 16bits systems (arcade and consoles) + GBC. Added Amiga; Scummvm; Dosbox, and just now PS1, i made my own best to have collection. I don't care about overlays. I think it's just annoying playing à game. I want the game...
