somebody should work on it
For N64?
No one would want to do such a thing, given how the Switch already has a fully fledged emulator for N64 running very well. It'd be a waste of time for something that might have quirks, or awful compatibility.

Wii and GC would be better to dissect, given how there's no GC or Wii emulation for Switch, but as pointed out, it seems N recompiled the isos for ARM, so they work better on the Switch's hardware.

So after 2 years did something came out of this?
Like anyone managed or is working on salvaging the GC and Wii emulators used in this collection or is it just to much work or not possible at all?

I was really looking forward to play Galaxy 2 on the Switch... hopefully Nintendo will release it later on.

If we get gamecube online service eventually
Can we customise it like n64 and inject it with new gamecube games?
with the way the emulator works atm im pretty sure that wnt be possible cause if i dont remember wrong the emu of gc if encrypted and isnt worth it to reverse it

Some time ago, was a work about to use the emulators on that game to run other roms, like the legend of zelda, you can read about it on:

That's weird, I don't remember hearing anything about any unusual encryption for the GC emu.
Only thing I remember hearing was that the GC emu ran loads of patches in realtime and that the Wii Emulator was running the the graphics natively and only emulating the CPU.

But I do not have the source for that and I am too lazy to start digging around.

Does anyone have the links to the Discords in relation to this? I'm curious to see where this has gone as of late. I would love to be able to play Simpsons: Hit and Run, Simpsons: Road Rage, Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Party 6, and Mario Kart Double Dash on the Nintendo Switch without lag.

Unfortunately, research basically died out. It was basically impossible to add a new rom without the emulator shitting itself

I see. No one has figured out how to reverse engineer the game to see how we can convert replacement ones into the ARM architecture rather than the PowerPC? Well, I think this is kind of moot now since Steam has released the Steam Deck since this game came out, and by installing Windows to it, you can do pretty much anything Switchroot allows you to do (like NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, and GBA emulation) along with the added plus of lag free GameCube and Wii emulation along with hopefully decent DS, 3DS, and Wii U emulation. Since this appears to be going nowhere, I'll just save up the money and buy a Steam Deck instead. I've also made a handy Venn Diagram that compares and contrasts the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, and it's easy to see which one is the winner in terms of emulation!

Playing switch games should be in the both if you're gonna say it plays GC/Wii better, in 99% of games on my Steam Deck the emulation is better than on my actual Switch. Same with TOTK so far.

That is true! I know the Switch emulation scene is very new still, so things can still be buggy in comparison to one that has had nearly two decades to be perfected, and added Wii games along the way. I'm not even sure of the current state of the Wii U emulation scene. I'm more surprised Dolphin didn't take that on considering the Wii U had a Wii, which by extension had a GameCube, although it was locked.

It's because it was easy to base it off of because the hardware of the systems are so similar and the code can be read by each of them with a bit of fiddling. The Switch is much much different than all of the PowerPC consoles so it wouldn't make sense to bundle 2 completely different emulators together. Dolphin uses a lot of the same code for Wii and Gamecube emulation. I'm pretty sure the Switch emulator started based off of the 3DS emulator to be honest
