Hardware Ps Vita and Emulating the FireRed Upgraded Engine?

Heya there! Just wanted to ask around about this, but it seems games using the upgraded FireRed engine on gba (Pokemon unbound, etc.) Have quite a hard time running on the Vita's GBA emulators.

Has anyone else had a similar experience in performance quality, and are there any workarounds that might be available for this, well honestly rather oddly specific issue, be it general emulation optimizations or otherwise?
