Hacking Hardware Upgrade PS4 500 gb HDD to 1tb SSD FW 9.00 on broken blu-ray drive

As the title says, I have a PS4 original on FW 9.00 jailbroken but it has a broken blu-ray drive so I get an error when I attempt to install the recovery firmware on the SSD. Is there a way to get this to work?

Your only option may be to clone the hdd to the ssd. Unfortunately this will result in loosing half the storage space on the ssd at least until you can get the blu-ray drive fixed and then you'll be able to reinstall the firmware properly and format the drive to the full size while doing so.
