Can't Reproduce Windows re-opening after I close browser

A few times this past week, after closing out of Internet Explorer, 3 windows have immediately opened back up to the GBAtemp homepage. I'm not sure if it might be an ad, but it only has happened with this site and the windows only open to GBAtemp.

Before anyone says "use firefox or chrome", I know and I do. Just informing you all in case it has happened to anyone else or is part of a larger issue.

edit: this is IE9 by the way. Can't update to IE10 as a few sites I required do not support it.

Are there any pipeshift characters (or plain old newlines) in the home page setting?

In my browser settings? No.

Uninstall IE in the widows update panel and re-install it. I'm not sure what's going on, but doing this may just fix it.
