Pretty sure it's a full on hardware fuse and not an e-fuse.
It's there to protect your console from short-circuiting. You'd have to replace the fuse after the fact obviously.

I don't even know what's up with it at this point. It really doesn't like smaller-than-specific size, and no one has actually found out what said specific size is. And the behaviour is different depending on the cart.
