USA SNES and Super Famicom power questions

On my Super Famicom I use an original UK Mega Drive power supply. Don't know if these are different on mainland Europe (other than the pins of course).

Hacking Xeno Chip audio stutter and disc red error

Does this happen with official discs? Does the error happen regardless of where you are in the game (e.g. leave on the menu for half an hour then load a new game?) Is the console well ventilated? If you immediately restart the console/game does it still error? Two potential areas I can think...

The founder of Oculus is releasing a $199 FPGA Game Boy system

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like analog uses a switch: https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/fxcSiQP1BjSjAWx1.huge

The founder of Oculus is releasing a $199 FPGA Game Boy system

The GBA uses a physical switch to detect GB/C games and the carts use different voltages. So if they don't include that switch/voltage support at launch, either it would need an adapter, ROM support or maybe jerry rig something using a GBA flash cart.

What do you get out of a cheap Dreamcast to SD card adapter?

I only got one a few years back because I wanted to backup my VMU saves, that said, I agree they're poorly made **** made worse by the snot glue. I said I got one, but it was actually 2 as the first one was buggered and I couldn't attempt a fix thanks to the aforementioned glue.

PlayStation State of Play May 2024 showcase - God of War: Ragnarok coming to PC

Has anyone tried using one of those basic steam client DRM crackers with a Sony PSN required title (I don't know if they're still a thing)? Asking because I'm curious if this is also some kind of rudimentary DRM.

    Things you have fixed/modded recently

What device do you have? Are you able to at least boot to a live environment and most things 'just work'? I ask because Mint worked fine on my parent's Linx 1010b but on my personal cheap Atom tablets things didn't work e.g. touchscreen. To boot to a live environment, just create a USB drive...

    Help with Apple Id

This isn't always true, I've have encountered some devices which are now more restricted than they once were. IIRC there was one customer with a Nokia that managed to lock themselves out. I tried doing a factory reset on the device via recovery but no luck.

Anbernic announces the RG Cube retro gaming handheld

I wonder if the NPU could be used for something which doesn't just taint the feature due to potential spyware? For example, on the fly texture scaling, on the fly translations, better bots for playing MP games offline, etc?

    Compiling Github code?

I'd rather devs just supply binaries where possible, especially if they're aimed at a general audience and don't absolutely require it e.g. rom hacks. I know this thought will annoying certain individuals/groups (I'm not joking), but relying on the source code IMO is otherwise only meaningful...

Samsung Imposes Questionable Rules on Independent Repair Shops

Whose the number one? Apple? I say that because they are the bigger PITA from my experience due to the 'icloud must be disabled' policy when we get returns/send stuff away, made more annoying if the customer is also a PITA who refuses to accept that we have to abide by this policy before...

Samsung Imposes Questionable Rules on Independent Repair Shops

Funny thing is that their reluctance to do so may also be costing them indirectly, a few years back I accidentally fried the processor board of my then relatively old Samsung TV. Had they sold the part directly for say £80-100 I probably would have just bought that. Instead I bought a...

Samsung Imposes Questionable Rules on Independent Repair Shops

It's a shame, because Samsung were otherwise given my experiences over the last few years one of the better Android vendors e.g. longer support and offline backup software (especially with ADB backup being deprecated). This just sounds like a legal nightmare, especially now that this has been...

Removal of AI-generated media used in official GBAtemp news

Personally, unless they would have hired an artist instead of using AI, I don't see this as causing any real harm, especially if they used a free model (i.e. they didn't pay for models which use unauthorized sources) or one that uses sources which gave permission. You might want to further...

Nintendo acquires company behind Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy ports on Switch, "Shiver Entertainment Inc."

You're presuming they were even willing to sell. Remember as well that Shiver was owned by Embracer, a company that has been selling/closing/having layoffs at studios allegedly due to a failed financial deal. Considering that Shiver has been know to port software to the Switch, I'm extremely...
