[QUOTE="Stwert, post: 10323682, member: 359285"] So many great games this year, Spider-Man 2, well I was apprehensive because I loved the first 2 games so much, but damn I was not disappointed. I love almost everything about it, when merely traversing a map is so much fun it almost seems like the rest of the game is just very tasty gravy. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Tears of the Kingdom though. That game, along with the first Spider-Man on my Steam Deck, to name just the 2 main ones, helped distract my brain during the most heartbreaking, terrifying, stressful months of my life, when we were in hospital for 8 months (my son was born at just 22 weeks, it’s been a rollercoaster of a year). It’s extraordinarily difficult to switch off the worry and stress in a situation like that, even with my wonderful wife, the amazing NHS staff, support of family and friends. For someone like me, who had to be strong and level-headed, it all builds up to ridiculous levels. Gaming played a surprisingly big part in keeping me sane and sensible, it has proven to be therapeutic beyond any previous experience in 45 years of gaming. Something you may read about in much more detail one day, there’s a heck of a story to be told there and I may just come out of ‘retirement’ to write it. Assuming of course the website will let me write for them again, but I don’t see why not. Anyway, I’m looking forward to another exciting year of gaming in 2024, let’s just hope it’s a banger.
