@SylverReZ It's honestly kinda difficult associating with a religion again, even if it stands for pretty much the exact same stuff I supported anyway. Instinct, I guess.
For clarification: Satanism is non-theistic, meaning that we don't actually believe in the Devil. Or a God. It's a religion that emphasizes the pursuit of knowledge, equality, and scientific achievement and discourages laws/protocols that are driven by superstitious beliefs.
Yesterday I joined the Satanic Temple. I've officially come full-circle--when I created my profile here I was an Evangelical Christian. Then I became Agnostic, then Atheist, and now finally Satanist. Crazy how life changes a guy, huh?
@Xdqwerty For me it's been a liberating experience. It took a lot to break away from something I was indoctrinated into and finally being free has been excellent.
@SylverReZ For a long time it was. The Satanic Temple is NOT the Church of Satan, which DOES believe in Satan as a powerful deity. I see it as an inverse equivalent to Christianity. The Satanic Temple has a provocative and misleading name which I'm still not sure how I feel about.
