GBA action replay max needs factory reset but I need help, It says 1st fat table failed and when i say ok it say reset to factory settings and it wont.

I dug out my old gba ds combo action replay / Action replay Max for all the techies out there but as the title stated i cant factory reset it which is depressing as the gba action replays go for waaay to much in the retro market.
