Activision wins $14.5 million in lawsuit against cheat codes company EngineOwning

Cheating online is disgusting. Very different to modding an online game for fun, especially an online game that has effectively been abandoned (though these days live service games aren't peer to peer and you can't run your own servers, so once modern games are abandoned they are gone forever).

Skyward Sword HD randomizer announced with release date and trailer

People love watching streams of Zelda randomisers. Nintendo really ought to be making these themselves, add them to NSO.

Trump found guilty on all counts in NY trial

Makes sense, he is guilty af in general. I bet Hillary is smiling from ear to ear, I know I would be if I were her. She was a lock for President, if not for the wildcard of Trump.

Silent Hill Transmission event scheduled for May 30th, 2024

A good remake, on the same level as the recent Resident Evil remakes, would be brilliant.

Do you think there will ever be

Nintendo will swear up and down that Switch will be the second pillar to Switch 2, but yeah they will abandon it within 12 months of Switch 2 release. It'll still get some ports for years to come, maybe a few AAA games because of how many Switches are out there, but Nintendo always abandons the...

Editorial GBAtemp Exclusive The Borders of Open Source Code: The Downsides, Legalities and Alternatives for Git repositories

It's a hairy topic. Everyone making free software wants to make money from it, well a lot of them do. So they break the spirit of free software to make even more money. Yuzu kinda ruined it for everyone.

Mario Builder 64 is the N64's answer to Super Mario Maker

Nintendo ought to be doing this kind of stuff themselves. I guess they have no rush to do it, they could make it and add it to NSO whenever they want. 10 years from now, 20 years from now.

Ubisoft reveals 'Assassin's Creed Shadows' which is set to launch later this year

I hope they bring back sections of the game that allow you to roam modern day Japan too. Probably outside the scope of what ass creed is today, but it would be cool.

What about Provenance, any reason why it can't be in the App Store in its current state?

PS1 emulator "Gamma" has been added to the Apple Store for iOS devices

It begins. Even without greater hardware access, on Apple's chips we are going to see some pretty powerful and slick emulators.

Nintendo takes down Gmod content from Steam's Workshop

Well, Apple does have the trademark for "Apple" in the trademark category of technology and software or whatever. If Apple doesn't defend their trademark then they risk losing it. Apple was a good idea for a computer business name, the opposite of the Microsofts and Compuglobalhypermeganet-type...

Is it open source and GPL, so Nintendo can one day use it if they wanna?

Nintendo takes down Gmod content from Steam's Workshop

Gary Bowser and Yuzu pushed Nintendo too far. Retaliations were inevitable. But people will be hacking Nintendo hardware and software for as long as there are Nintendo hardware and software. The status quo won't change. Like we need GitHub or official repositories/websites to share Nintendo...
