lol, you're so wrong.

Math is pretty universal. Big data, statistics, analytics, probability, and the list goes on and on...

Although considering the current state of these jobs, while they pay big bucks and are highly sought-after, it's a really soul-crushing experience. They will milk you to exhaustion.

As for feeling useless, it takes some time to find your place. Scavange places, talk with others, etc.

I thought chess was on the rise on the interwebz. There are even chess streamers and everything.

Most chronically online people (like people in real life) do not have any special talent

The skilled ones naturally get the most attention and appear more common

Math is actually extremely important in the real world and can fetch you a high paying job (especially in statistics)

I would rather be great at math than art

I've ran out of character limit, but I should clarify that only "big tech" of the jobs I've listed are soul-crushing. Outside of it it's highly possible to go to retirement from a good and respectful workplace in the areas I have listed.

Yeah I know someone who does quantitative finance for a state run bank and the life is very cush with a 6 figure salary

Also, getting (actually) good at math and chess is much more difficult than practicing art or learning to code.

Like all things natural talent plays a role too

The amount of effort any individual person will put into any skill will yield different results

I could put a lot of effort into math and probably not make great gains

Yes, but "99% perspiration" is also true.

Idk my own personal experience is perspiration is probably 50%

I know some people who draw nonstop but never improved

Were they trying to improve in the first place? Or were they just cementing bad habits?

A mix I would say, but beyond that I think some people have poor fine motor skills and spacial reasoning that cannot necessarily be improved
