My 2023 guide to New Super Ultimate Injector

I doubt it. both gba and ds run on native hardware inside the 3DS so like, injection feels unnecessary for most

sounds like just from those twitter links above, migdiy might be a different company? out of china, with non-pre sales already live? I like that it's just a touchpad, not even a solid button. And yeah, like stonedmodder shows, apparently the dumpers are starting to reach consumers this...

I mean, I'm pretty sure that's what they mean by the user has to flash the cart themselves. But I too am wondering what they mean by a "solution" being usb-c??

okay based on recent conversation, things are suddenly unclear for me--Can you or can you not get online if you're using a donor cert file? it feels like there are contradictory answers here suddenly

ArticBase, a tool to broadcast your 3DS games to an emulator, has been released

If I understand correctly, it's a big "Yes But..." in that you have to stay connected to the turned on 3ds to use the program with Citra. It's NOT saving the file to your PC, but still to the 3DS regardless. like think of it as "streaming" the save file to citra rather than porting it.

ArticBase, a tool to broadcast your 3DS games to an emulator, has been released

This seems like an amazing idea that has potential. If you can finagle getting to use the inputs on the 3ds itself while playing on the computer or whatever device, you'll have made a solution for streamers that beats everything out there right now. Hard mods are expensive, and snickerstream...

From what I recall it doesn't work great using the mig cartridge itself through the dumper onto your pc emulator, because the file swapping is weird inside the PCs. Regular carts work great or better than on actual hardware through the dumper. One hilarious vid early on showed them running...

This letter from UnlockSwitch seemed to slip by this thread. an update on all the changes they say the final product will have: https://unlockswitch.com/Final_UnlockSwitch.pdf "Our solution comes with its programmer on a USB type-C port (no additional fees)." Am I reading this right that...

Unlock is saying that the "review" copies were proof of concept and not actually the chips they're going to use (so why send them...

Yeah, people continuously think that the "for backups only!" thing is the usual legal-protection euphemism that stuff like R4 has always used and that it probably is "insert rom=magically works", when no, no they really mean it only works on full dumped backups. I'm sure it's just a matter of...

Again, coming from a guy who doesn't have one, but like, I thought I heard the initial data file has to come from the same physical cart as the xci, not just the correct xci? I could have things confused though.

    The MIG Switch Thread

I don't have one yet, but from what I understand you CAN swap certs just fine (provided you rename the file to match the xci, natch). it's the initial data bin file that has to match from what I understand, and I think I heard that's the one that the same on all carts of that title (and...

Homebrew Post Homebrew ideas, suggestion, requests here

small personal pet peeve thing: I'd like to see someone do a patch/code/whatever for the 64 zelda remakes that simply added an aiming reticle for the distance weapons (eg, bow, hookshots, slingshot, boomerang). Just something that actually shows where you're aiming at all times. yes, I'm...

I want to know if unlock switch is planning on selling a dumper as well. they do seem to be coyly hinting that they are indeed going to add a switch to the cart, which apparently only needs to break the circuit on a pin or two for a second to work. Also I just looked up their twitter and...

You are correct. from what I've seen it's just too new for any real data to start coming out, and nobody outside the company walls has any idea how the cert files are checked. We do know the games still run fine if the certs don't match however. It is totally possible that they have...

Further information about the upcoming Nintendo Switch "Mig Switch" flashcart has been revealed

Rumor has it a new cart called "unlock switch" is in the works that appears to be a flat clone of the mig. Could just be a resale scam with new stickers on the carts for all we know now though.

    The MIG Switch Thread

Yeah I get that. I'm just under the impression that the cert file is likely what ninty is set up to check for with roms. And as initial tests are giving the appearance that the cert doesn't have to actually match the game inside the data, (not to mention both the oft-talked about used/rental...

    The MIG Switch Thread

Basically so far the end answer is it seems it's mostly useless if you don't have a donor cert file for your personal use to amend to your downloads, and the safest way to do that is to have the dumper and grab it off of one of the carts you physically own rather than get one from someone else...
