Nintendo takes down the Breath of the Wild randomizer mod from Gamebanana

Thanks for the write up. Although, I have a few more questions. How did Nintendo rob Rare blind? Also, I looked up Argonaut Software's founder, Jez San, and it seems he's still alive. I know the company shut down in 2007, but I don't know how any of the legalities in regards to Star Fox 2 work.

Gaming PS1/2 PS2 Games that Stand the Test of Time?

Dark Cloud 2 really is a treat. It's very polished, and the game has a really serene soundtrack. I can see some being put off by randomly generated dungeons, since they feel samey after a short while, but the game deserves an honest try. Level-5 was at the top of their game in the PS2 days. I...

Gaming PS1/2 PS2 Games that Stand the Test of Time?

Our family had Sony's back in the day, and I feel like those had great quality sound and color. I'm not sure if you've had any experience with Sony CRT's, but they might be worth a shot.

Nintendo takes down the Breath of the Wild randomizer mod from Gamebanana

This is a tough one. On the completely logical side, Nintendo is well within their rights to protect their brand. Anything using the name or even the likeness of a character is a potential target. On the emotional side, an opportunity to modify the game for a unique experience has been removed...

Nintendo takes down the Breath of the Wild randomizer mod from Gamebanana

I'm intrigued. What did Miyamoto do to Argonaut and Rare? I know Starfox 64 was handled internally by Nintendo instead of Argonaut, not to mention pulling the plug on Starfox 2 late in development. For Rare, I know they went over to Microsoft to make glorified mini-games and character avatars.

Nintendo takes down the Breath of the Wild randomizer mod from Gamebanana

Can someone post that gif of Fry from Futurama? In all seriousness, if this doesn't contain any original assets or code, I'd like you know how this program is different from other Zelda game randomizers. Wait, Miyamoto's directing a final game? I thought he called it at Wii Music.

Gaming PS1/2 PS2 Games that Stand the Test of Time?

That's very civil of you. To be honest, I was usually on Team Sharp for convenience purposes. I grew up during the time when most families had CRT's. In fact, we had a CRT in my college dorm room. These days, I've forgotten if CRT TV's are truly better. I do recall games sounding like a million...

    The Meme Box

Yup, I had it as a kid. I played through the scenario multiple times hoping to unlock something extra. I think the game itself takes about an hour to complete. So, yes, I am acquainted with The Brickster.

Skyward Sword HD randomizer announced with release date and trailer

I still have to play through Skyward Sword, but I recall the opening tutorial being about as tedious as the Twilight Princess one. I didn't know that the right stick gets sword duty in the HD release, but it may still be more preferable to a Wiimote. Either way, a new Zelda randomizer is always...

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

Ah, that's right, with PS4 backwards compatbility, the HD remasters can skip a gen. Square-Enix will re-release it on the PS6, I'm sure. Thanks for the rundown. I appreciate the Black Friday tip, since I usually don't count on these types of discounts. I've considered a Raspberry Pi several...

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

Thanks for the info. It sounds like X-Arcade is the way to go. I am tempted, but I don't think I could get away with using $250 USD on an arcade stick at the moment. Life is short, so I should probably consider putting some cash away for it.

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

Ooooh, the X-Arcade Tankstick! I haven't thought about that for years. There was a time when I thought about buying a cabinet and fitting it with a dual X-Arcade stick. What a nice dream. Thanks for the #MemoryUnlock Most likely, Square-Enix will default to porting over the HD versions of Final...

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

Ha, don't put the idea in my head, I've thought about buying an arcade stick for ages. For a brief time, I looked into building one too.

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

Wow, that really is disappointing. Like Nintendo did with the Wii U and Switch, Sony can do that too, but the problem is the customer perception. What are these big companies doing?

Which industry got you sinked in?

Yeah, I think my interest in video games naturally led to the whole computer fascination. I learned about compatible parts before there were websites that did the work for you. I enjoy building PC's, and I've considered a Pi several times just for the experience of getting it up and running.

Questions you're too afraid to ask elsewhere.

That's a tough one. Like @BakerMan said, you can always be direct and try to have an honest talk. Another option is to come from an angle where you yourself are concerned about your own habits. (Heart issues, breathing difficulties, bodily pain) Emphasize yourself and even ask for her support...

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

I wasn't expecting mention of The Bouncer in this thread. That game was interesting back in the day. Great graphics and presentation. What got to me was how enemies could hit you while you were down. The final boss AI really took advantage of that. It's s shame there wasn't a two-player story mode.

Select PlayStation 2 games are coming to PlayStation 5

I have purchased a few hard-to-find PS1 games on PSN. I always appreciated that PSN purchases carried over to the PS3, but I don't know if that continued to the PS4. If the emulation is poor and people have to purchase the same games again, then that would definitely be the Nintendo MO. I...

Homebrew RELEASE reVC: Reverse engineered GTA Vice City - Switch port

I will always be bummed about this one. GTA3/re3 was unfinished, but I think reVC is pretty complete. They never finished the Liberty City Stories/reLCS conversion, so it's a bit messy. All so Rockstar could bring us the Definitive Editions.
