Homebrew TAD Delivery Tool - Installs TADs on any DSi!

TAD Delivery Tool (TDT) is a fork of NTM/TMFH that allows you to install TADs on any DSi. TADs are just renamed Wii WADs that are created by the TwlSDK. Most DSiWare prototypes and dev apps are in this format. You normally can't install TADs on retail consoles because they are dev signed and...

Tutorial Region changing a DSi on NAND

(iQue cover photo since DS iQue firmwares are kinda my "thing" now lol) This guide will walk you through region changing your DSi. You're essentially "cloning" the firmware and all files from another NAND. :!: This is a very dangerous operation :!: and I do not recommend for most people to try...

Get DSi serial from CID (or vice versa)

I'm writing a program that needs both the serial number and console ID for a DSi. Are these completely separate or is there a way to get one from the other? I can ask for both but it would be simpler if only one is required. Thanks.

Tutorial Install unlaunch on development units (pandas)

This goes without saying, but BACK UP YOUR NAND FIRST! Backups are especially important with rare hardware like this. For reasons beyond my head, unlaunch will fail to uninstall on dev units. It sounds like it's something to do with exploitable titles blanking out a register and unlaunch not...

    Replace DSi stage 2 bootloader

I've been trying to get a few prototype stage 2 bootloaders from the gigaleaks (search for *.nand files) to boot. I tried taking the new bootloader and pasting it into the NAND dump starting at 0x200. I just get a white screen on boot. Judging by source code in TwlIPL I can 100% guarantee that...

    DS cartridge replacement save chips

DS Cartridge replacement save chip IDs/pinouts I've seen a good number of people ask what replacement saves are needed for their games. Here ya go. You can buy these from whatever site you want. I like using Mouser and DigiKey, but some chips may be out of production and you'll need to find...

    Photography on game consoles

Share any photos you've taken on any game consoles! Fancy cameras are nice, but why spend hundreds of dollars on a camera when you could buy a game console? DSi, 3DS, gameboy, something else? Sure, the cameras aren't exactly good, but they've got a nice aesthetic/feel to them that nothing else...

Tutorial Install developer firmware on retail 3DS

Yes, I know, this guide already exists. However, the old guide is horribly out of date and doesn't show how to prepare your own dev firmwares... something relatively important when there are so few retail encrypted firmware archives online. Hopefully this helps anyone still looking to install...

    PC tool to encrypt CIA

I'm looking for a program I could use to retail encrypt CIAs, preferably one for linux, though at this point I'll take anything :P. Searching online only brings up decryption, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hardware Misc 3DS SystemUpdater (dev fw) from 2012 dumped

A new 3DS SystemUpdater just was dumped by Rezrospect, and it contains a never before seen development firmware! This firmware is dated 2012/06/22 on the home menu, and looking at the DevMenu and Config version strings shows that it is 0.17.49 (r48276), or 4.2.1 as it would be displayed on...

Hardware New Prototype DS Lite Discovered

A few weeks ago a new prototype DS lite was acquired by ProtonX with help from lasscat. The DS lite is a CPU-X4, which is currently the latest known prototype. The motherboard is almost identical to the retail CPU-01, with the exception of a two curious through holes for a DS phat microphone to...

Modding Wii disk drive to read games burned to DVD-R

I am curious if a disk drive could be modified to read games burned to disk. This is mainly so I can install the home menu disk on my RVT-R. I figure there's some chance I can swap out the drive for a modded retail one and get that to work. I do not have the option of buying the home menu...

Tutorial How to install iQue firmware on a non-iQue DS lite

This guide was built for this this blog entry. Check it out! How to install iQue firmware on a non-iQue DS lite This guide also works for installing korean firmware. Please note that there isn't much use to installing korean or iQue firmware, besides being able to brag about having done this...

    DS(i) Dev App Documentation

DS(i) Dev App Documentation Hey everyone! I wrote a website to document some of the DS(i) ROMs that Nintendo used to test, debug, or create the DS(i) consoles. This goes from official SDK programs to leaked factory testing ROMs. I've always been fascinated by Nintendo's super secret programs...

DS lite Wireless Bricked WiFi Board

EDIT: I figured out what was wrong. My original backup was also the wrong one which would explain why restoring it did not fix wireless. While not fixable without a backup, this can be prevented when installing. See my post here: https://gbatemp.net/profile-posts/154500/ Recently I've been...

    DSi Browser Exploit Found

Last night Nathan Farlow released "stylehax", a new exploit for the DSi which uses the web browser. With the DSi web browser being on most DSi consoles, this will greatly benefit users who don't have Flipnote Studio installed and can't load the Memory Pit exploit due to broken cameras. View...

Hardmod to unbrick Wii? (I have pre-brick backup)

I've got a bricked Wii (no bootmii as boot2) and backups of "keys.bin" and "nand.bin". Is it possible for me to preform a hardmod to fix the Wii? I'm decent at soldering and I've got lots of time.

Tutorial Flashing prototype DS firmware on real hardware

Hey all. I was looking for how to flash the prototype firmwares and couldn't find any good guide. I decided to write one instead. Enjoy! Note that there is a chance of bricking your console. In addition, if done incorrectly this will break all wireless communications, and may break some games...

Can't open RomFS or ExeFS on dev app

Figured it out! You have to decrypt with this tool (gm9 and other tools don't like this dev encryption) and then you're free to check RomFS and ExeFS all you want. You'll have to re-encrypt to retail if you want to install dev apps however. Original question:

Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I still like how a freaking mp3 file hacks webos all that security defeated by text yet again
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
No real point since movies are 30fps
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Mostly why you never see TV manufacturers going post 60hz
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I only watch tv when i goto bed, it puts me to sleep, and I have a nas drive filled w my fav shows so i can watch them in order, commercial free. I usually watch Married w Children, or South Park
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I stream from Nas to firestick, one on every tv, and use Kodi. I'm happy w it, plays everything. (I pirate/torrent shows/movies on pc, and put on nas)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Damn, only $2.06 and free shipping. Gotta cost more for them to ship than $2.06
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's where stremio comes to play never got a letter about it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just use a VPN, even give him my login and password so can use it also, and he refuses, he's funny.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
