[Tutorial] Playing 5.55 or 6.00 games in 5.50GEN and 5.03 GEN

|
Team GEN has done it once again! GEN Dev Yoshihiro has made a gamedecrypter which lets you play 5.55 and 6.00 games on your 5.50Gen-b2 or 5.03GEN. How to do that? I’ll teach you how. But remember if you like the game buy it on your local stores.

Just click on images to enlarge it.

First download this file:

GAME DECRYPTER W/ UMDGENv4

GAME DECRYPTER V2

Step 1:

Extract it and you should get a PSP folder and UMDGENv4.00.exe

Copy the PSP folder in the root of your memory stick if it prompts you to overwrite just click Yes to all (for xp) or yes (for windows vista and windows 7).

Step 2:

Open UMDGEN. You should see a window like this:

Step 3:

Click open on the upper left of the UMDGEN window and locate to your iso. Then click Open.

I’ll be using my Dirt 2 backup for this tutorial.

Step 4:

Then click Extract Image:

When you were prompted where to save just locate to the folder you want to save your extracted image.

Just wait for the extraction to reach 100%

Step 5:

Now locate to the folder where you’ve saved your extracted image then open the folder PSP_GAME>>SYSDIR you should see like this:

Step 6:

Connect your psp to your PC.

Then copy the EBOOT.BIN to the root of your memory stick.

Then disconnect your psp

Step 7:

Now run the Gamedecrypter that you’ve copied on step 1. You can find it on games. Just like this one:

After it was loaded. You should see a black screen with some text. Just read those texts and press X to patch your EBOOT.BIN

Step 8:

Connect your psp again to your PC

Then you should see a new folder on the root called DECRYPTOR. Open that folder and copy the EBOOT.BIN to the location of your extracted images (PSP_GAME>>SYSDIR).

If it prompts you to overwrite just click yes/yes to all (for xp) or Copy and Replace (for vista and win 7).

Step 9:

After copying the EBOOT.BIN open UMDGEN again. And drag and drop the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA.BIN.

This should come up:

Then click save. It’s up to you what file type you want to save ISO for uncompressed. Or choose .cso/.dax for compressed file.

I’ll choose .cso this time.

Click continue to this one:

Then wait for the packaging to finish.

Step 10:

Connect your psp to your pc through USB cable again. Then copy your new file to your ISO folder

Now let’s take a look at Dirt 2:

I’ve also tried it on Naruto shippuden here’s my screenshot:

That’s it! Congratulations you can now play 5.55 Games to your psp with 5.50Gen-B2.

Well I think you need this application!

This is an application that can create and save your own database.
You can add items to your database, remove/delete items,

It's just a user interface and self explanatory program. That you can
master within 5-15 minutes.

How to use this application:

-You need to enter the name of the file, the location, and the file size(in MB)
conversion(MB):
1000000B = 1MB

[Tutorial]Random Wallpapers on your psp

|
This plugin was made a long time ago. But a friend asked me how to use random wallpapers on a psp.

Before you ask this plugin works with 5.00m33-6 and 5.50GEn-a/b/b2. I haven't tried it on 4.01m33 and lower but I think it will work. Try it, it's safe and will not touch your flash0.

Step 1:
First download the plugin here:

Step 2:
After you've downloaded the file extract it. Then copy the seplugins folder in to the root of your psp. DONT copy the folder if you have existing plugins inside your seplugins folder. Instead, open the seplugins folder and copy the wpchanger.prx to your seplugins folder.

Then open your vsh.txt inside your seplugins folder then add this line:
ms0:/seplugins/wpchanger.prx

After that disconnect your psp. And go to recovery menu.

Step 3:
To go to the recovery menu, shut down your psp by holding the power button up for about 5-8 seconds until the screen goes off. Then open the psp again while holding R button.
You will see a black screen just like a command prompt in windows.

Step 4:
While on the recovery menu locate to plugins. And after entering plugins find the "wpchanger.prx [VSH] (Disabled)"
Choose it and press X to enable it. After clicking X the text now must be "wpchanger.prx [VSH] (Enabled)"

If you've done that successfully jump to Step 6. If not continue to Step 5.

Step 5(for those who can't find the text "wpchanger.prx [VSH] (Disabled)"):
If you can't find the wpchanger.prx... be sure that you've put the wpchanger.prx inside your seplugins and put the line:
ms0:/seplugins/wpchanger.prx
on your vsh.txt.

You can check it by connecting your psp again to your pc. And check if the wpchanger.prx is inside your seplugins folder if not copy it again. Also check the vsh.txt if the line ms0:/seplugins/wpchanger.prx is in there if not put it there.
(remember 1 line per plugin so if you have ms0:/cxmb/cxmb.prx or other plugin put the ms0:/seplugins/wpchanger.prx on the next line)
Now repeat Step 3 and 4.

Step 6:
If you've successfully enabled the plugin. Connect your psp to your computer. And on PICTURE folder create a new folder name it as WALLPAPER (all letters must be in UPPER CASE).
Then put your .bmp files inside the WALLPAPER folder.
After copying your bmp files disconnect your psp.'

Step 7:
By default the wallpaper on your psp will change everytime you access in XMB I mean when you restart your psp, and exit from a game.
But if you want to change the wallpaper once per day. Just Shutdown your psp by holding the power button until the psp is fully off and then turn it on again while holding Triangle button. If you want to use the default configuration shutdown your psp by holding the power button until the psp is fully off and then turn it on again while holding Circle button.
Then that's it your wallpaper on your psp will now change as you've configured it!

If you want to have a special wallpaper for a particular date all you need to do is to rename that wallpaper like this. mm-dd.bmp and create a new folder inside the PICTURE folder and rename that folder to DATEPAPER (all characters must be in upper case).
For example you want to use a particular wallpaper on christmas just rename the wallpaper to 12-25.bmp and put it inside the DATEPAPER folder

Credits goes to:
shaqdarcy for this tutorial
Hellcat for the plugin
Dark-Alex and Team GEN for CFW
and everyone who contributed to the scene.

Note that all images must be in 480x272 pixels and in bmp format. Or else you might encounter an error likes psp will crash/freeze if the image is not 480x272. And the image will not be read unless it is a bmp file.

[Tutorial] Using Custom Livery on NFS Shift

|

This is a Step-by-step tutorial on how to add/use custom livery on NFS Shift!

Just click on the links to see the images larger. Those images are guide for that particular step.

First I will show you how to save the picture you’ll be using. We will use our PC this time.

Step 1:
-Choose the picture or wallpaper you want to use as your custom livery. Let’s use this Ferrari wallpaper I found on Google.

-Open it using adobe Photoshop. After opening it you can also add some photo edits here like put your name etc. But for now let’s just left it unedited.

Step 2:
-On the upper left corner of your photoshop click FILE>>SAVE FOR WEB AND DEVICES. Or just simply press Alt+shift+ctrl+S on your keyboard.

Step 3:
-On the upper right you will see “PRESET:” will a drop down box. Click on it then choose “JPEG HIGH” http://i33.tinypic.com/2rh9pq9.jpg

Step 4:
-Click save and choose the path where to save the jpeg file. After saving the save for web devices windows should close.

Next is saving your jpg file to your psp and how to import your jpg file to NFS Shift as your custom livery.
We will need a PC, a PSP and of course a USB cable.

Step 1:
-Connect your PSP to your PC. Next, locate to your saved jpg file. Then copy it and paste it to your PICTURE folder in your psp. Or just simply drag and drop it to your PICTURE folder in your psp. Then disconnect your PSP.

Step 2:
-Now start your NFS Shift.
-Choose a challenge either in quick game or story mode

Step 3:
-Choose the car you want to use on that challenge and after choosing the car choose PAINT/LIVERY. I will use this Bugatti Veyron 16.4

-While on Livery Placement choose livery

-Then on livery picker choose the memory stick logo "CUSTOM LIVERY" and press SQUARE button

-Then choose "IMPORT"

-And choose the file name of your jpg file. I saved it as Ferrari.jpg so I will choose the Ferrari

-You'll be asked for a file name. This will create a save file to your memory stick so that you can choose it again whenever you want it. I will put Ferrari as the file name of my livery.

-Then choose a path.

After saving your livery you can now load it and use it to your other cars too!

Step 4:
-After saving you'll be back at LIVERY PICKER, Press X to accept your cutom livery. As you can notice my Bugatti Veyron 16.4 paint or livery have changed to ferrari. BUT it is not arranged correctly.

-Now you can arrange the position of your livery in LIVERY PLACEMENT. You can adjust its Brightness, you can move it so that it was centered or on the left side. You can also adjust the size to make it smaller or bigger, you can also rotate it so that it will be facing the front, back, or other side. You can all do this using your analog/joystick.

Analog towards left/up can add brightness, can make the picture smaller. It can also rotate counterclockwise, and move your livery to the left or up.

Analog towards right/down can lessen the brightness, can make the pic larger, can rotate clockwise, and move your livery to the right or bottom side.

If you press TRIANGLE button the image will be repeated you can see 2 images and sometimes it looks like a crap. If you don't like it press TRIANGLE once again so that the image will not repeat.

If you think the image will be alright you can now go to Confirm and press X/O.
So I think its now ok with me.

Step 5:
-NOW my Bugatti Veyron 16.4 with Ferrari Livery is now ready to the challenge.

-Let's bring it to the challenge then. Here it is!

Thank you for reading! Hope it can help you on adding custom livery to your car. Here are other custom livery I've created:

*Note: You can only use jpg files that are saved as for web and devices. If you have jpg file but didn't know if it was saved for for web and devices just open it using adobe and do the first part of my tutorial.

Thank you hope you like it! Post your custom livery here too so that every one can see your creations!
