Great to see this out. Before long the floodgates will be completely open and every Switch version is easily softmoddable.

I guess it doesn't matter, as nintendo is going to release another (underpowered) console some time this year and they'll just move on to it from the current one which maybe is why they aren't paying their lawyers to go after this thing.

Or an overpowered Switch 2 that is ahead of it's time? You bet!

Please do not hijack this thread, that is a very basic question about piracy.

please read https://gbatemp.net/help/terms/
and also if you have noobs questions go to https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.488277/
This is a thread about the MigSwitch, and I'm asking if updating a game from the MigSwitch results in a ban, so how is it hijacking? 🤔Did you forget which thread you were in? It's ok, I'm sure everyone's done that a few times.

so? PCs has been around 50 years and still are working.
PCs don't get discontinued every 7 years, although one could argue that a new gpu comes out every year or whatever. but anyway, I just got a new switch lite to test with mig switch but haven't received one yet. I'll probably have this bitch modded before it gets here anyway. plenty of mod chips in my possession OH HI US CUSTOMS thanks for taking my two SX Cores but that didn't really accomplish anything LOL

My Laptop originally came with windows 7. It's had windows 8, 10, 11 and linux on it - currently it's on windows 10 but 11 works fine as well but I don't like that one. Also it's about 10 or 11 years old and had a ram and ssd upgrade. It still does the job though and does what I need it for so there's no need to update it just yet as there's no point. I'm just saying that @realtimesave has a valid point.

It does a clicking sound and Windows doesn't recognize it
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:
clicking = bad, i'd still try it on a linux box or a mac, out of desperation
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Do you recommend any way to back up?
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
I will keep trying, but that clicking sound seems like the moving parts are stuck or something
  • mthrnite @ mthrnite:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

I had a weird thought, Sega with the Saturn it was a train wreck a pile of chips, but it does kind of fit the design philosophy of Sega at the time.... The Genesis/Sega CD/32X machine was probably loads of fun to program for
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Damn, the new COD coming soon is 310gb on series s/x

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, so you need to have another series s if you wanna play more games?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
