UPDATE: SciresM has commented on the matter. It appears Atmosphere users will need an update, which will happen soon, likely sometime tomorrow.

UPDATE 2: Reports are going around that the update has been pulled, as it causes issues with downloading games from the eShop. Supposedly, the update is still live on Nintendo's servers, but Switch consoles now default back to seeing 12.0.2 as the most recent update. Be wary of any issues, if you did update, and share any experiences. Nintendo still has the 12.0.3 announcement post live on their official website.

The Switch firmwares are on archive org and the PS3 ones are provided by Sony themselves, why is this the case? Licenses?

You'd think removing these would be one of their first steps in curbing piracy or whatever nonsense they're parroting that particular month

Just because something is easily found on archive.org doesn't mean it is remotely legal. Often the contrary.

The PS3 was also of the era where online access for consoles was not assumed, and it does officially support update over USB.

If there's any type of widespread bug as a result of having it installed, it will most likely get a fix much sooner than later and another update would remedy the issue. I do understand being nervous about your console possibly being f'd. But I think it will be fine. Cheers.

I wouldn't worry about it. I also updated. though, I'm wondering what will happen with the ticket or check with game builder garage, since I have it preloaded. it comes out on Friday. anyway, an update is pending on my Mario switch as well, so I don't know what will happen if I initiate that. it sounds like it won't update based on what others have said. I'm sure Nintendo will release an update soon to fix whatever is wrong with this update. I didn't test everything on my system that's updated, but I played a game for about twenty+ minutes. I encountered no issues. however, the problem seems to be downloading from the eshop, which I didn't try to do.

seems this update screwed things up lots of people where getting card cant be readed errors and blackscreens and such on switch, i guess nintendo didnt test this update at all lol.

It appears to be back again. I just updated my Lite to 12.0.3.

So the update is officially back. The question now is, was the download issue with the firmware, or did they not update something yet on their side (in eShop)?
Because if it's the second, then that's fine. But if it's the former, then what about people who already updated? My Switch is not giving me an option to update again, meaning they didn't bump the version number or anything.
