Hello, everyone! This is a release for WiiWare and Virtual Console dats for OLL and ClrMamePro. They're not really Beta anymore!
RSS feeds are available at the bottom for knowing when new releases are published.
There's also a (very) minimalist website up at <a href="http://crackerscrap.com/dat/" target="_blank">http://crackerscrap.com/dat/</a> (Thanks, Cracker!)

There are other WiiWare and Virtual Console dats out there, most notably those by <a href="http://psykos77.free.fr/OfflineList/telechargement.html" target="_blank">Psykos</a>. Our dat styles are a little different, so I will detail the features/points of interest of my dat here. There is also a "Wii DLC" Dat available at NoIntro, but this combines Applications, WiiWare and Virtual Console into one dat. (And it's only for ClrMamePro!)<ul><li><b>Duplicates:</b> I have made an extensive effort to eliminate duplicates in my database; I have opted to choose the "Best" release for any given title. For people who only casually collect and do not follow the scene, I find this to make more sense instead of including multiple entries for the same game, some of which have been nuked. You will generally find only one of each game from each region in here, with exceptions for (UPDATE) titles.
</li><li><b>Integrity:</b> I have made a good deal of corrections to the database at ABGX.net, as a result, several games have been added to the database and a few have been recently nuked. I have done a LOT of error checking here. I am fairly confident of the completeness of the dat.
</li><li><b>RiffRaff:</b> Nuked releases, Duplicates, and other undesirables are not in the main database, but are included in alternate versions of the dat. The purpose here is to help identify if your releases are bad. I have dug up 95% of the Nuked releases and duplicates to help you identify if your collection is outdated. The numbers for nuked releases start at #99000, and prefix the title with [NUKE]. This also includes some titles which are not nuked due to technicality but are otherwise superseded or have better versions available. I have also removed a handful of releases from the earlier scene days; particularly releases that were unpacked, or things not even in .wad form.
</li><li><b>Injects:</b> Speaking of riffraff! I have removed ALL injected titles from the VC database. You will find only valid scene releases here. This includes all 200+ 0RANGECHICKEN releases, and also a handful of injected titles that were released onto the scene in the earlier days. Every game in this database HAS been released commercially through the Shop Channel. This is by far the leanest and meanest VC dat around.
</li><li><b>WiiWare/VC Only:</b> Wii Channels, Utilities, and Game-based DLC are not listed here.
</li><li><b>Duplicate Filter</b> Full duplicate ID information (even for nukes) for use with OLL's dupfilter.
</li><li><b>Images:</b> There are a handful of images, but not many. I need assistance with these. If Psykos is willing to donate his to the cause, all the merrier, but otherwise I won't be taking his without permission. There is a public PhotoBucket gallery in which users may contribute screenshots. Please contribute if you're interested in this project; otherwise, screenshots are low on my list of priorities.
WiiWare: <a href="http://photobucket.com/wiiware" target="_blank">http://photobucket.com/wiiware</a>
Virtual Console: <a href="http://photobucket.com/vconsole" target="_blank">http://photobucket.com/vconsole</a>
</li><li><b>Missing Releases</b>: In the early days of the dat, there were a few releases that no one seemed to have, but no better copies were available. These have all been redumped now, so there are no missing releases in the "Good" dat. The old missing releases were formerly included by name in the nukes dat, but now those are excluded as well. In the future when I have a browsable website open for these dats, you will be able to see the "Missing" releases there.
</li><li><b>Updates:</b>: <strike>Generally once a week, on fridays. I may update more frequently, but I can only guarantee once a week.</strike> I lied, I lied a lot! I update once in a while. Oops! I am currently working on a beta for a system that will auto-update, allowing users to keep track of things in between my updates. I resume school in February and will likely be busy until mid-May.
</li><li><b>DLC:</b> DLC Content is also included; these have (DLC) both as a suffix to the title and in the comment field. These do NOT share the same Duplicate ID as their parent games.
</li><li><b>Language Info:</b> I have filled in Language Info as retrieved from Wikipedia, and NOE, but there is bound to be inaccuracies. Your assistance in reporting language discrepancies would be appreciated; it takes a long time to install all these wads, and I just simply don't have the patience to try each one personally.
</li><li><b>RSS:</b> I made some RSS feeds so you can track releases! Each RSS entry links to the latest dat so you can automate downloads of the dat when new releases come out. Each news entry also has a link to the NFO for the release on Ludibria.</li></ul><b>WiiWare::OfflineList</b>

Feel free to make requests in this thread. If you think something should be changed, formatted a different way, feel free to ask: I am more than happy to consider your requests. If you would like to see this data in a dat format for another rom manager, by all means: let me know which one you'd like to see this dat in and I will do my best to make it happen! I only ask that after you make a request, you come back to the thread to continue discussion with me if I have any questions about your request. (I can't implement things if I don't know what you want!)

I think that about does it! Please report any errors or inconsistencies, corrections and etcetera in this thread for now, thank you!

<b>Tips & Tricks</b>:<ul><li> There is no point in compressing WADs. Set your renamer to use the "store" level of compression (0 in OLL), or if possible, not to compress your roms at all. There is also no benefit to zipping duplicates.</li><li> You can use both the Nuke and Regular versions of the dat simultaneously in OLL. Point both dats to use the same naming structure and same "verified" folders. Tell the regular version to "Move unknown files", and have it move them outside of the folder. Tell the regular version to "Do not scan subfolders". Then, for the nukes version, create a subfolder in your verified folder called "Nukes", and instruct the Nuked version to "Scan Subfolders". You'll still have to move the nukes into the nuke folder you've made manually, but you can keep both dats active at the same time without major conflict.</li><li> You can sort the VC dat by System. Create a new text file and save to it the contents here:
IF NOT EXIST "NES" MKDIR NES
MOVE *(NES)* NES/
IF NOT EXIST "SNES" MKDIR SNES
MOVE *(SNES)* SNES/
IF NOT EXIST "N64" MKDIR N64
MOVE *(N64)* N64/
IF NOT EXIST "TG16" MKDIR TG16
MOVE *(TG16)* TG16/
IF NOT EXIST "C64" MKDIR C64
MOVE *(C64)* C64/
IF NOT EXIST "ARC" MKDIR ARC
MOVE *(ARC)* ARC/
IF NOT EXIST "NEO" MKDIR NEO
MOVE *(NEO)* NEO/
IF NOT EXIST "SMS" MKDIR SMS
MOVE *(SMS)* SMS/
IF NOT EXIST "GEN" MKDIR GEN
MOVE *(GEN)* GEN/
IF NOT EXIST "MSX" MKDIR MSX
MOVE *(MSX)* MSX/
Then rename the file "sort.bat" and run it.</li><li> The dats are having entries propered and old releases nuked constantly. I'd advise NOT renaming files inside of the zips: for example, while the outside zip mask of "%u %n %o (%e)" works well for VC, The "filename in archive" mask should not use %u. Try "%n %o (%e)" instead.</li></ul><b>Credits & Sources</b>:

thanks for these DAT files!
Final.Fantasy.Crystal.Chronicles.My.Life.as.a.King.USA.READNFO.WiiWare.Wii-OneUp includes DLC and the game, so.. should that replace the other two?
edit: also, the oll wiiware +nuke list seems to be missing the majority of US releases, the non-nuked one is just fine.
editx2: Final.Fantasy.IV.The.After.Years.USA.WiiWare.DLC-A.Wii-OneUp, should this be somewhere in the nuked, since it was replaced by new DLC?

But i got 1 question.
It's a question, so don't feel obligated
wink.gif

As a European i'm proud of it, that's why i'd ask if it's possible to use (MD) for European/Japanese Sega Megadrive Wii VC releases instead of (GEN)
Genesis was only used in America.

Anyway, like i said it's just a question, nothing more, so don't feel obligated

Great work on the Dats and doing the update now cause indeed a few legit releases didn't got renamed.

For the purposes of the database I had used "GEN" as the key to indicate both SMD/GEN. I thought it made more sense to be able to sort roms by all regions by one key: E.g, if you search in windows for *(GEN)*, it'll pick up all of the Genesis/MegaDrive roms from US, EU, and JP.

As for the nukes dat: Sometimes there are duplicate CRCs between the good releases and the nukes, so sometimes some are "missing" because OLL will omit subsequent entries that have duplicate CRCs, but I will look into why the WiiWare one is missing most of the US titles (I didn't realize it was broken) Edit: (Tested both..) Both the "Standard" and "Nukes" version of the OLL Dat have 126 non-nuked US releases. This is the right amount. 114 Releases, 2 Updates, 10 DLC packs, 14 Nukes. There are only a scarce handful of US Nukes in WiiWare, so the fact that only 14 are showing up is OK. Although it does seem that my script is not appending the [NUKE] prefix to the titles here, so I'll fix that. (But they are in the 10000+ Range, which is what I relegated nukes to.)

Final.Fantasy.Crystal.Chronicles.My.Life.as.a.King.USA.READNFO.WiiWare.Wii-OneUp Does include both the game and the DLC, but both releases were actually superseded later on by better copies. The DLC in particular was incomplete; so this release is in the nukes section for a reason.

Final.Fantasy.IV.The.After.Years.USA.WiiWare.DLC-A.Wii-OneUp Should've been nuked, yes. It wasn't? It's nuked in my local database here: Is it not in the nukes section of the downloaded dat? Edit: It is in the nukes section. I suspect the confusion is due to OLL not prefixing [NUKE] to the title, I'll fix that, thanks.

OK, Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
I installed OfflineList
I installed the dats
I unrared all my roms

I have 378 VC wads but Offline List says I have 1 it knows about.
I could expect out of 378 to have a few wrong ones, but to have only 1 that the database knows about? I am not buying it.

Each wad is in a folder
Here is a short sample.

Have you used OLL before? It's a little bit of a quirky program, but I still like it.

Keep your un-verified WADs in one directory, say, D:\OLL\Unverified, and make another folder like D:\OLL\Verified -- Then, in OLL, go to File > Add Roms and choose in the browser all of the Wad (or zip/rar) files you want to add to the dat. It should then move them to the verified folder.

If it matches a CRC in the dat, it's going to move it over to the verified folder, and turn the entry green in the list.

It doesn't work like other scanners which expect your roms to already be in one directory and then it "scans" those, you have to actually "add" the roms to this database, then it moves them.

If I am WAY OFF on why you're having a problem; I'm sorry!

They're all for WiiWare. I don't have any for VC yet. I'm working on it, though. I'm really sorry I don't have a comprehensive list of images, I just don't have the ability to make that many and (quite frankly) I have other things to do with my time. If there was a way to run WiiWare/VC wads straight from USB, and a way for me to take screenshots with the wii, I'd be dumping the images out by the bucketload.

Honestly, if you guys have ideas for how I can make images a less time consuming ordeal, I'm all ears.

just having one issue so far:
F-Zero.USA.PROPER.VC.Wii-OneUp gives me a crc of 64A0C682 instead of 85749967 that the oll dat has // which is correct?

also, are there any plans to have folder names for vc in the comments section instead of gen/n64/etc?

F-Zero.USA.PROPER.VC.Wii-OneUp was nuked. It was superseded by F-Zero.USA.REPACK.PROPER.VC.SNES.Wii-OneUp. And this is precisely why I have this dat. VC is so confusing.

I wasn't sure WHERE to include the foldername, since I need to use the Comments field for system. I see that Psykos uses the "Source" field to indicate foldername, would you like me to do that?

I am also debating adding an easily parse-able comments field in the dat for a LOT of extra info, while keeping compatibility with OLL.

just to answer the folder name on.

The comments were it has N64, Gen, NES is only to identify the system it is from.

as OLL only scans the root of a folder and will not go into sub folders and the root folder will be different on nearly every PC the then would be very difficult as the comment is static information.

Wherever would be amazing, because as it stands, there's no way to tell where a proper/repack was released for a VC by just comparing the folder names.
Thanks, again! I'll be sure to let you know if I find anything else confusing.
EDIT: OLL 0.7.3 beta 2 has a 'browse subfolders' option for me.. referring to jab's above comment.

Okay, I tried putting it in the "Source" field. Also the [NUKE] prefixes are back for nuked titles.
Oh, I forgot to remove the searchable "Source" box, though. I'll remove it later.

For anyone else who notices that the comments (system) search box is broken: I know. I think it's an OLL bug. Not sure what to do about it, but I'm going to leave it there for now in case it does work for some people.

quick fixes, yay!
yurrrp, just gotta disable that source drop-box and that broken comments drop-down isn't a bother either.
EDIT: suggestion; would you wanna swap the source/comment contents for the vc lists to match with the layout of the wiiware?
might make more sense that way, but don't quote me on that statement.

Nago, ww-oll.xml fixes:

0053 & 0317 - Potpourrii
0052 & 0076 - Plattchen?

Driift - I'll admit, I thought it was a typo so I corrected it. I actually reverted back to the correct spelling later, but I forgot to fix it here. Thanks.
Potpourrii - Fixed. At least I can claim the reason I didn't know how to spell this word was because of how exceedingly manly I am.
Technically it should be "Plättchen Twist 'n' Paint" but OLL does not support the extended ascii. I've used the phonetic "ae" instead.
