Read to know when a game could be dumped:
These dates are what retailers say is out unless stated otherwise, sometimes they make dates up for pre-ordering purposes. These dates could also be "shipping dates" which usually means that that's the date when games get shipped to stores so a game could either be in stores on that day or after. Some games may get delayed some others not listed may appear but at the moment of posting these are correct. Also just because a game is released in stores it doesn't mean that they'll appear on our internets but NA titles usually appear on our 'nets Wednesday night UK time. I don't usually write up region dupes unless they wasn't in English first but I feel that I can make an exception with this game as you needed a hack to play this in English. Released last year in a few Euro countries and was a bit of hit on our forums.

As the young but determined hero Mister Slime, players set off on an exhilarating adventure, trying to protect Slime Village from its evil enemies, the Axons. Using the touch screen and stylus, players must navigate the levels by dragging and stretching Mister Slime's arms to grab hold of small anchor points scattered throughout the game. Mister Slime features inventive uses of characteristics specific to Nintendo DS, including sound and shape recognition.

The first couple of levels suck balls and give the impression that this is yet another forgettable game but later on it turns into a damn fine game. If you enjoyed the likes of Soul Bubbles & Kirby's Canvas Curse then this might appeal to you.

Region North America Genre: Adventure
Developer: Gorilla Systems Publisher: Majesco

The Clue Bender Society, a group of the world's greatest detectives, is opening up its roster to one new member. Nancy Drew is among three exceptional candidates that could make the cut if she can solve a series of challenges before the others. But the test becomes real when a secret tome containing the solutions to history's greatest mysteries goes missing, and the Society turns to Nancy and the other applicants to help recover the books.

I might give this a go but then the developers have made some awful games aimed at girly gamers.

Also out in NA countries is Puchi Puchi Virus which was actually dumped already in May and was decent. Also there is Space Chimps which is based on that shit looking CGI kids film. As usual the people behind it haven't bothered to show anything of it so I won't bother writing it up in detail. As well as that DSI have Yamaha Supercross, and it must be pretty shit if they don't show any screens as they shown screens for such atorcities as Seamonsters & Balls of Fury before they were released.

So what the fuck happened to Commando: Steel Disaster being something to play before this game hit us?

I don't know much about this game, it has the same characters from MS6 & two new vehicles, one of which is this big ass mech robot. Combat School Mode from MSX returns for this game too.

The screens are pretty meh for this game, theres only 15 that show actual gameplay and only 5 of them are from a recent version so here is a video that'll show this games awesome-ness. Please SNK don't fuck this up like you did with SNK Vs. Capcom : Card Fighters DS.

Square Enix continues with its port crazy run on the DS. The game was originally on the Super Famicom (SNES) and like Dragon Quest VI it was never released outside of Japan. In 2004 SE remade the game for the PS2 and that also stayed in Japan so actually its good to finally get this game with an official translation. It was recently revealed that all DQ 4, 5 & 6 will make it outside of Japan with DQ4 geting a NA release later this year.

Dragon Quest V follows a journey that transcends three generations. Travel alongside your father on his quest to see the world, grow to set forth on a journey of your own and face life-altering decisions as you continue your family's legacy.

As usual for a DS remake it'll get some new bits added to it that wasn't in the SFC/PS2 versions. Expect an English release next year.

Gachapin is this character from something called Hirake! Ponkiki and now has another DS game, the first of which was some sort of jigsaw puzzle game that I forget the name of.

It looks like this real crappy collection of 20 sports titles which includes running, karate, racing & all that but the reason I'm writing it up is that it has a bonus game called Gachabomberman, which is basically a traditional game of Bomberman that lets up to 4 players battle it out, that bit looks good but the rest...yuck.

Remember Camelot? They did the Shining Force series, Hot Shots Golf!, Mario Golf/Tennis GBC/N64/GBA/GC and of course the overrated Golden Sun 1 & 2 (cue some bitching from people as I dared to say it was overrated). Well as you can see they quite like doing Golf & RPG games so what is their latest game? Golf.

We Love Golf! presents a realistic golfing experience with a fresh new spin incorporating the Wii Remote's unique motion-sensing functionality. Players will use the controller to choose clubs, line up shots, swing and even add a touch fade or draw with a flick of the wrist. Just as on a real course, gauging wind conditions, correct club selection and careful reading of the greens are all essential for victory.

Should be very good, Camelot know how to make a good golf game. Ok guys you've done this, now can you make a new Golden Sun game just to shut those bitches up? Or even better another Mario Sports title with RPG elements. Thanks.

Hands up those who have been waiting for Sierra to give us a DS version of The Incredible Machine? Well it looks like it won't happen so this game will have to make do.

The game uses the stylus as a weapon to rid the Earth of alien invaders that have scattered across the planet. Become the ultimate Master of Mechanics by creating crazy contraptions to free humans, keep the mechanics in motion and defeat those pesky foes. Test your skills with more than 100 levels! Creative-thinking is key to clearing each level.

Use gravity shifters to change the direction of gravity, laser pistols and mirrors to cut objects, a vortex to make things disappear and many more gadgets designed to keep the mechanics in motion and clear the level. Take the Nintendo DS stylus and draw your own solutions as you build platforms, walls, portals and more! Design and create your own brain twisters and share them with friends to prove you are the greatest MechanicMaster! Share your own levels with friends or send a limited demo version of the game over a wireless connection

I want this game now, just before I was about to post this I saw yet another Incrdible Machine clone for DS called "I Love Geeks" Linky.

Released TBA Genre: Squad Based Shooter aka CANNON FODDER CLONE!
Developer: Most Wanted Entertainment Publisher: None

Most Wanted Entertainment...I like you! So they're giving us a type of game I always wanted on my DS (the above title) and now they're bringing another that I have desire, a Cannon Fodder style game! Ok ok so far these two games prove that they have no originality but meh lets just enjoy them.

The Expendables is a humorous, squad-based shooter with cartoonish graphics in which the player assumes control over a small private army whose "soldiers" were hired from all over the world. While the game's chief focus is intense and fun action, the upgradeable equipment, and the interactive environment further enriches the experience and the game offers hours and hours of shoot-em-up gameplay. There'll be over 35 intense missions on 4 varied locations, and with fully destructible environment.

As you can see in the video, you move the soilders by tapping on the screen and I assumed shooting is done by some button. If it turns out good, I hope they get a publisher.

Puzzle Quest: Galatrix

Released Q4 08 Genre: Puzzle RPG
Developer: Infinite Interactive Publisher: D3 Publisher

Freaking lurved the first game, man did it eat up some of my time! Still play it nowadays, on my DS & even my phone. This is the next game, but this time the fantasy look has switched to sci-fi.

In Puzzle Quest: Galactrix a horrifying scientific accident has provoked another race to attempt extermination of humankind; players will create a persistent pilot who gains skills, crafts items, maneuvers among the universe's political factions, and upgrades the ultimate space fleet as they attempt to end the genocide. An innovative hexagonal puzzle board allows for a wide range of strategic depth as it heeds to gravity according to a player's location in the game universe. A rich and detailed storyline and fresh gameplay elements make the world of Puzzle Quest: Galactrix a captivating new adventure to explore and conquer.

From IGN's preview: "At first glance it looks like Hexic, and it is another match-three game, but it operates as though it were in zero gravity. Pieces refresh in the direction of your move -- slide a tile up, and new pieces appear from the bottom of the screen. Once you get a feel for it, you should be able to control the flow of battle and keep your opponent from getting the matches they need.

Although the tiles are hexagons, a match can only be made in a straight line. Whereas a match-four previously gave us an extra turn, now we have to match at least five to go again. Also, there is now no penalty for making a wrong move, other than losing your turn."

The hexagonal grid should add more of a challenge to the game and make this title its own game rather than just another Puzzle Quest, but with a different setting. Sadly unlike the other versions it won't have online play which to me is a stupid & cheap decision.

Released Q4 08 Genre: Rhythm RPG
Developer: Bright Light Productions Publisher: EA

Another damn RPG, now I like the genre its just that, I wish people made games of a different genre or at least try something different, like this game.

Players enter the world of Zubalon to help the colorful and zany inhabitants, the Zubos, defeat an evil force which is bent on world domination. Players can befriend the Zubos they meet along the way, feed and nurture them, help them gain skills and strength, and assist them in their battles with the enemy, the dastardly Zombos. A key element to Zubo is music, which is intrinsic to Zubalon from its tuneful plant life through to its currency of musical notes. The player uses the music to drive the battles forward, synchronizing their stylus action and tapping in time with the musical beats to win.

EA seem to be really trying to do better nowadays and their future DS titles seem to actually want to push the its capabilities. The game looks different to what most RPG's try to offer and it does look like a lot of effort has gone into it.

Released September Genre: Rhythm

When I first heard about the Wii one of the games I wanted for it was the Dreamcast classic Samba de Amiga. Sega knew people would want this so they have got Gearbox Software (Half-Life: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blue Shift & Brothers in Arms series) to develop it, which is pretty odd as they just do shooters!

Playing as the grinning, sombrero-topped monkey, Amigo, players shake the Wii Remote and Nunchuk like maracas, in time with the visual beats of the music on-screen. Samba De Amigo is packed with lively stages and a host of colorful characters.

A month ago HMV leaked out packaging for the game that looks like it comes with maraca tops for two Wiimotes! If true I hope that they make the sounds like the original games maracas did, though I reckon it won't but the Wiimote speaker will.

Released September (North America) Genre: RPG Life Sim
Developer: Cing Inc. Publisher: XSEED Games

Unlike the DS the Wii hasn't had a lot of RPG's, of course next year I'll probably thinking "Oh shit its flooded with RPG's". Lets look at a game that not only is in the genre but offers something different to the rest.

Little King’s Story begins with the story of young boy named Corobo. Shy, and without many friends, Corobo stumbles upon a mysterious, powerful crown while walking in the forest near his village. He soon discovers that the crown grants him the ability to charm any person, and make them follow his orders. Suddenly, Howzer, the bull-knight, appears, informing Corobo that he is now King of the village, and he must not take this responsibility lightly. Returning to his sleepy village, as a King instead of a shy little boy, Corobo begins a quest to turn his small hamlet into a noble, fantastic kingdom.

As King, players manage and involve their townspeople in the goals of creating this new territory; enlist them to dig for treasure, build new buildings and otherwise better their community. Of course, leadership is a two way street, so as King, players try to conquer rival nations to create a single unified kingdom, as well as grant the requests of townspeople at whim. With the Wii Remote as a royal scepter, this Winter Little King’s Story allows players the chance to be the best king in the world.

It's developers have previously done the excellent "Hotel Dusk" and the ok but it has it fans "Trace Memory".

I never try J version games, I just don't have the patience with the language barriers but I gave the translated version of JUS and I loved it. Very impressed with it, I've been avoiding it for months, thinking 'Oh it's just a fighting game and likely to be crap.' But no.

Boy, doesn't Metal Slug 7 look good. Its dual screen usage is mediocre at best, but if they incorporate 2 playing screens that'd have been a disaster.
The trailer doesn't say anything about multiplayer though, hope it's there.

DQ5 was the first DQ that I really liked. And then DQ6 was spot on for me too. Because the story of 4-5-6 is linked (It goes 5-6-4 IIRC?), I'll definitely pick up 4 for DS as well.

Metal Slug 7 should be pretty easy for none Japanese speakers, run, gun, avoid, repeat.

Fuck yea metal slug 7!

I've been waiting for this.....

That will make Metal slug 6 the only game in the franchise, other than the horrible 3-Ds, that I haven't played.

Yay great to see you still doing this Hadrian, cheers.

Not much this week, Dragon Quest of course but its in Jap. Ill play it for a bit to see how it runs and then wait for IV to come along later this year.

When does the new Puzzle Quest come to ds?

Oh well its probably good its a slower week as I need to get back to FFTA2 and Mass Effect (which i just got on PC).

Nothing for me here. Already took the EU dump of We Love Golf, and I do love it... great golf game. I'm slightly interested in NCAA Football, but I will personally wait until Madden 09 comes in August.
