Hi XFlak, thank you again for your help. I was not able to switch to USB 1, in my system only USB port 0 is working for whatever reason. But I've managed to load Super Mario All Stars from the SD card and the slowdown was still present at level 4...
Syscheck looks good. As much as I like to dump on pimp my wii it doesn't appear as if there's any traces of it left over, so I don't think modmii or primo my wii is to blame.
Maybe try an SD card or using a dif USB port?

Try changing the cluster size of your USB, the recommended is 32kb for Wii games. From experience I have had the same slowdown symptoms when having more than 32kb of cluster.
