I just tried using GYTB (the .3dsx version) and it isn't working on 11.4 with Luma 8.0 and Rosalina. Perhaps it is related to what is described below?
@zoogie Does the .3dsx file need to be hex edited again for the 11.4 firmware, and do the values in the xml need to be changed?
For what it's...
That's great news, thanks for letting us know! Can you explain where you found the Brain Age ticket on the Wii U (I assume that you used ftpii everywhere to make the replacement)?
I have had the same problem that Greggen is describing - I tried using the ticket I obtained using tik2sd and a funkiiu downloaded Brain Age and got the same error message (with and without sigpatches disables).
Now when I go to the eshop, I can download but not install Brain Age :-( I ended...
Couldn't the HBC source code be changed so that it has the same ID as the previous version? This way, an installation of the HBC wad would overwrite the older version. It would also mean that older homebrew wouldn't crash when it exits to the HBC
It's good to hear that we can do this in emuNAND without making any changes to the sysNAND. Please keep us updated @memomo, and I hope that everything goes well!
Thanks again @liomajor, @Kazuma77, and everyone else that helped. It's great to have both luma and GW booting with A9LH, and I doubt that Gateway would have ever released something that permitted this.
Cheers :yaynds:
After reading all the posts from last night, it seems pretty clear that the Gateway A9LH payload is only working on Toshiba NANDs, not Samsung NANDs.
Has anyone created a Samsung NAND.bin with Gateway and also without Gateway, and compared the two dumps? Perhaps someone with a hardmod can...
I have one more update on my tests:
-I have 2 USA O3DS (one Toshiba NAND, one Samsung NAND). The GW a9lh installer works on my Toshiba NAND, but not the Samsung NAND.
Can anyone else confirm this with their tests? Here are the NAND sizes for old and new 3DS, which tells you the type of NAND...
Yes, you could load it by putting it in the luma payload folder and naming it correctly (i.e. up_bootgw.bin). I was using CTRbootmanager9 to load it. It seems to partially boot the gateway menu correctly, but then it goes to blackscreen and freezes.
Cool, it's good to read one report of success on the O3DS. I also have the 3.7.1 launcher.dat on the SD root, but it doesn't work. Did you do any steps differently to get it working on O3DS? Is your O3DS hardmodded?
Thanks to @liomajor and @Kazuma77 for the easy GW a9lh installer! I installed it successfully on my O3DS, but when I press B to load GW I get the red screen and shutdown as others have reported.
However, I did make a little more progress just now. I used CTRbootmanager9 to load...
I have been following the efforts to make an unofficial A9LH installer, and I was curious if there was any progress yet. I saw this yesterday, but as RednaxelaNnamtra mentions, this a9lh.bin fails because Arm11 isn't being loaded correctly. I hope that I don't have to inject anything into my...
-Google "Wii U VWii Common Key se7ensins" and click the first link.
-Copy the key and paste it into a blank .txt file. Remove any spaces between the letters/numbers. Name the file key.txt and place it in the same folder as NUSD for vWii.
-Download vWii IOS36 (title is 0000000700000024...
The best place to find information for title IDs is here:

For example, on this page you'll find that the title ID for Mario Maker USA is 000500001018DC00. To download the latest update, change the number to 0005000E1018DC00 and use NUSgrabber. BTW, you...
