The main change being that the game will no longer be Free To Play, but instead will cost between £3 to £4.

Eh, it's not like I can't afford to wait. I've barely played any of the games they've given away so far, and there are some great ones.

In the meantime I am thoroughly discouraged from buying any new games since of course whatever I spend money on this week will be announced as a free giveaway next week.

Do you see that Journey is finally dirt-cheap on Steam right now? You can count on that being next.
