I am currently trying to play through Pokemon Unbound on my EZFlash IV and keep running into my game saying "The save is corrupted" and loading up the back up save. Am I doing something wrong patching the game into my EZFlash? Did I download bad roms? I am am fairly new to the EZFlash so any knowledge is appreciated. Thank you!

I ran into this issue playing Pokemon Red Rocket and worked around it by saving the game multiple times before exiting. The thing is- at the end of the game I was unable to continue since there is an end scene where you get sent to the main menu thus making me unable to save the game to reload the backup save. If I have to ill still play having to save multiple times but I'd rather see if there's a possibility of fixing this before going any farther in the game.

It's probably a save banking problem. Pokemon GBA games use a special method to access more save memory than usual. Vanilla Pokemon games use this to save backup copies of the save file, so saving multiple times can ensure that at least one copy is saved correctly. Unbound is known to remove the backup copy and save additional data instead, so without properly functioning banking some of the data is corrupted.
Getting it working should be doable with the correct ROM patch. I'm pretty certain EZ Flash IV supports save banking, it just needs to be done in a way which the cartridge supports.

Are you being for real, cause that's hard to believe, DK is Nintendo and made in japan, Sea of thieves was from Microsoft, in America. I'm not calling you a liar, just didn't know.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
