Gamecube mic not working on nintendont

I bought a gamecube mic and am trying to use it on my modded wii. After I start mario party 7 with nintendont, it says the mic is not plugged in. I've tried plugging it into both memory card slots, but it's still not recognized. Any advice?

What first comes to mind is that you might be using emulated Memory Card and thus Nintendont won't pass through data from real devices plugged into MC slot.

I think the setting you want to enable is 'Use Native Controls.'
This will also disable use of non-GameCube controllers.

The mic is so much fun :)
I use it for karaoke revolution party
