Hello, I'm trying to rip the files for Luna and the rival character children in Animal Parade. The thing is, I keep running into dead ends trying to import the .cmp files to see the models. All I know of is the model for Luna being HRK049.cmp, but when I try to import it in applications like MilkShape it doesn't show up at all with it's importer plugin.

Does anyone know any applications that work with .cmp files and can load the models? And a tutorial on how to do so? Thank you :)

hi! I came across this because I am also trying to rip models from harvest moon. after searching for hours it seems like CMP files are both outdated and I wasn't able to find a program that would successfully open them. if you're looking to rip the models, there's a user on deviantart named "25animeguys" who ripped a few models in 2012. they used ninjaripper, dolphin 2.0 (set to a d9x preset), and I believe a program called metasequoia? too new to post links but I'd gladly share them with you. using this method I was able to rip the models from certain frames in dolphin, and if you use blender 2.7.9 there's a .rip export tool as well. the only issue i've had so far has been with smoothing -- as soon as you edit the model in blender, it becomes low poly, but i'm sure with some brainstorming etc it could be figured out and mapped! (ive just never uv mapped objects before).

anyway best of luck!! glad to see someone in 2024 still wanting to rip these models :)

Thank you so much! I believe you're talking about Metanoia, as I've used that before with 3ds games like Yokai Watch and Professor Layton! The only thing I feel i'm going to have a problem with is ninjaripper, as it never works with me no matter how many times I troubleshoot it or follow directions to the letter

Also I do believe someone here managed to smooth the models out at one point?

It was in a thread titled Looking to extract 3d models from Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

But all the same, thank you so so much for responding! I've been wanting to get the children and a few bachelors/ettes as models, and with this plus a tumblr post on how to switch the protagonist out to certain characters I might be able to after all! Happy to know there's others like me wanting to rip these models as well, best of luck to you too!

I went to auction at a mom/pops video game store few months ago that was closing, and bought 11 slims for $200, 1 was DOA but 10 work fine. so hella deal. Already rgh3'ed 8 of them. But most younger kids don't even want anymore, unless it plays stupid "fortnight", or newer shit.
