Being "super linear" isn't always a bad thing, as it means it's damn-near impossible for the player to get lost or not know where to go/what to do. Indeed, some of my favourite games are "super linear" - Twilight Princess, Pokémon BlazeBlack 2, Super Mario 3D Land, etc.

However, it has to be supported by other details, such as fun gameplay within the linearity, a good story, and/or a well-built world - else the linearity just becomes boring and restrictive. It's why I don't like Super Mario Galaxy; the Stars have to be obtained in a linear order, per each galaxy, unlike 64 DS' more free approach.
