Homebrew SCFW: Custom Firmware & Kernel for Supercard

@metroid maniac Hey you have any source for the flasher being used to flash SuperCard with the custom firmware? (if one exists..I remember trying one but not sure where I got it) While tinkering with GBA-Exploader's source (managed to port it to modern libnds. :D ) I added support for SuperCard...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Yeah so it's trying to access the card but something breaks it. Probably issue with filesystem then or the DLDI card isn't getting the correct responses from the card. These are all the drivers I think could possibly work for your card. But assuming you tried them all already then yeah that...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Does it hang there with no Slot2 device inserted?

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Hmm yeah sounds like maybe that MiniSD card isn't formatted correctly. You'll need some way of connecting it to a PC to fix that. :(

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Try this. It appears your card might be a SuperCard Rumble? because this is the only DLDI driver that has MiniSD in the description for it....

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

I'll try and get mounting of slot2.dldi file working again and have you try that. Should be done in about 20 minutes as I got some other things I need to do first. I think ram drive mount was why I would sometimes get exception crash when I initially attempted that. :P 1715552325 Ok here it is...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Ok try this one. If it fails then the DLDI driver code I used is not in a working state or isn't the correct one for your perticular SuperCard.... In which case could work with your card's DLDI driver mounted from an external file instead. I did get this to work for my MMD at one point but it's...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Yeah it mounted it as ram drive which breaks DLDI mount point for it. Try this build. I disabled most of the ram drive mounting for regularDS mode. If this works then I'll add a check for sdMounted (which will return true for regulardDS mode if a slot2 DLDI init succeeded) so this can be...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Oh wait. there is existing SC mode switch code in GM9i. I may need to disable it so it will try and mount it (or I may need to run that mode switch code first) EDIT: Ok I see whats happening. It's trying to do a ram drive mount since some versions of SuperCard can act as a ram expansion. I'll...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

Sounds like DLDI init failed on the MiniSD then. Reinserting slot2 card at that point just has GM9i treat it as a game card for rom dumping it. Can't help much beyond that then. MiniSD card might have corrupt or unsupported file system which would then require you mount on PC in some manner to...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

I see. I'll try and put that card's code in to GM9i and have it init that for slot2. :D The MiniSD probably uses the same driver as the SuperCard SD. So will attempt to use that. Ok try this. DLDI patch for your slot1 card. Then run from your slot1 flashcart...If it works you should see a...

Read and Write roms to a GBA Flash cart's Mini SD card with an R4 and a DS Lite

What flashcard is it specifically? I made a modified build of GodMode9i that treats slot2 similar to DSi SD so I can transfer files to/from a MaxMediaDock that has a 4GB micro drive as for some reason the MMD's slot2 device's USB fails to mount it on the PC. So I've been using this to transfer...

Homebrew R4 Stage2 TWL Flashcart Launcher(and perhaps other cards soon™)....

Little late seeing this but I checked and as far as I'm aware all the links still work though I did notice since they had http instead of https. Firefox was complaining about that so I went and fixed them. Unless your more specific on which link didn't work for you I can't help. I've attached...

Hardware Misc Others Project 3D Printing DS cart shells?

Oh you made a 3D print for a DS shell? You should consider releasing the STL files for that (assuming you made them in STL format that is). Would give others a head start on this. :P

Hardware Misc Others Project 3D Printing DS cart shells?

I recognize the shells in those photos. I have a couple of them. They appear to be injection as they have signs of that on the inside portion of the shell halves. If only I could find where that seller was getting them because he's the only one I know selling them. Haven't found them anywhere...

Hardware Anybody ever heard of N-Cards?

Been a bit since you've reported back. Any progress testing the G6 Dongle with things? Also curious if G6 operates in a manner similar to N-Card. Is it able to boot newer SDK5 stuff like the N-Card can?

Tutorial How to install iQue firmware on a non-iQue DS lite

IQue firmware I think isn't the only firmware using 512KB size. South Korean DS consoles apparently use one too judging from the archived firmware dumps I found. Not sure what benefit you'd get from using this for that as I'm not sure there's any notable difference with Korean firmware besides...

What's the battery in the DSOne SDHC?

Interesting well I do know the ones on my N-Cards are not diode protected. The voltage goes up when powered on. I have not tested with them disconnected....didn't feel like desoldering one to find out. :P

What's the battery in the DSOne SDHC?

They are similar to the ones used in N-Cards....I'm not sure if they are actually batteries though. They may actually be super caps. Does the voltage on them go up when powered on in a console? If so they are likely super caps. I don't think lithium primary cells exist in this size or if they...

    R4itool from lifehackerhansol

For me I ran cmake from console to build from cmake txt file then ran make after that....At some point I had to put it into VS but it seems i don't need to do that now. I think the real issue is the tool only works on an older version of the R4i kernel so it needs to be reworked for the updated...

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
