Complicated Licensing Nonsense (Legit PSN Stuff)

I have a reasonably stupid problem.I've recently taken up a project for translating Itadaki Street: 30th Anniversary for the Vita and PS4. I've made very good strides on the Vita version, and so I thought.. why not take a look at the PS4 version? Oh what a goddamn fool I am.So I have a PS4 on...

ROM Hack Devil Survivor Overclocked Modding

I'll need to get around to dumping DS2:RB soon, some of the formats may be the same between them. In the meantime I'm also going to take a look at SMT:IV and P:Q and see how those work. Hopefully if we all put our minds together, we can do some fun things with these games.

Heh, you might be right at that. Debug stuff is always a delight to find.

ROM Hack Devil Survivor Overclocked Modding

Apologies if I mislead, I meant to say I suspected it was a portrait, and at those dimensions.. it technically could be, albeit.. sideways? Strange. It'd make more sense if it were 128*32, though even that seems a bit on the small side in terms of width. It was under the tex\face\ directory and...

ROM Hack Devil Survivor Overclocked Modding

Surprised there's so little interest, then again I guess ATLUS games always were a bit niche. In any case, as a small update.. The BGM is stored as WAV, as is all of the voiced dialogue - which is really cool and convenient. The SE also appear to be WAV, but stored in DAT containers which I...

ROM Hack Devil Survivor Overclocked Modding

So I decided to take a look into modding this game and its sequel, not sure if anyone else has extensively researched it yet, but I've made some progress so far. You can use this to unpack the Target.bin container, which holds the majority of the games assets. Most of the assets are stored as...

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

I also tried contacting him, to no avail. Albeit he gets swamped with countless pointless banter and idiotic questions, so it's little wonder that legitimate questions get drown out in the sea of noise.

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

    No it did not, unfortunately.

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

I can confirm the title ID, so we at least know what it is. Not sure what you mean by the progress being maintained, or the save being available, though.

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

Interesting, yeah that works just fine. Boots up the game without any issues at all.

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

Well since it seems to only affect the eShop version, I'm not sure it's anything specific Nintendo did.. maybe newer eShop games are simply handled slightly differently? I mean svdt (and HANS, braindump, etc) never even get to boot, the system locks up on a red screen immediately after selecting...

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

Well I did mention I was using the 2.5 payload, so yeah I'm using his latest boot.3dsx. (unless he's released another build since last night?) I've tried various entry points, from BrowserHax (until it stopped working earlier) to IronHax, ThemeHax, etc..

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

n3DS, 10.1, 2.5 payload. And yeah, save manager has the same behavior, as does HANS (and anything else with a title selector). It seems to be an eShop version specific issue, though.. since as I said earlier, I've heard reports of cart users not running into this.

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

Tri Force Heroes (eShop) still locks on a redscreen. I've heard the cartridge version works, though. I'm not sure what difference that would make, but interesting eh?

    Homebrew HANS game compatibility thread

That's just it I never get that far, Triforce Heroes (eShop) causes a hardlock for anything with a title selector. (HANS, svdt, etc) It locks on a red screen before the homebrew itself even loads. I'm not sure why, as no other game has had this issue. I'm on 10.1, New 3DS, and I've tried...

    Homebrew HANS game compatibility thread

Are you using the game cart? Because the eShop version causes a hardlock for me on initialization (red screen).

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

I am looking forward to 2.5, it seems like a rather exciting update. I'm in no hurry regardless, just thought it worth mentioning here since I don't think anyone else has yet (that I noticed at least, apologies if I missed it!)

    Homebrew svdt: save data explorer/manager

I noticed that with Tri Force Heroes, svdt appears to lockup on initialization. The bottom screen turns red, the top remains black, and the 3DS is hard-locked until a power cycle. Was hoping to be able to backup saves for the game, as well as maybe add some friendly tokens to my game, since...

    Hacking FE100 Savefile unpacker/packer

Tried extracting and repacking with a lot of different save files so far and.. the results were quite positive. In fact the only save file I've had trouble with so far is MLaaK's DLC save data.. Wanted to see if I could get it extracted and repacked because of an idea I had sometime back which...

    Hacking Save compressing help

Unfortunately, the only way I know of to accomplish this would be to use these tools: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Segher%27s_Wii.git I say that this is unfortunate because there are no compiled builds in circulation, and they tend to be quite fickle when you try to compile them yourself.. Believe...

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah but if your main goal is just to play n64 and GameCube you can save about $50 and have the portability option
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
True, but on 2 monitors at 4k. Its just want you want really, to each they own.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
For a kids aspect Anbernic would be the better option they'd probably melt over the price on a good 4k display

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
For that texasroo guy, I'd recommend the Spell and speak as his first system.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
So they buy a pi5 kit for about $150 and say a 28" 4k display probably looking around $400 total
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They'll be getting in the territory of portable Pcs anyway
    +1
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Gonna check out the new Garfield looks like garbage
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Can't wait to see the new "stick" that can actually play Ps3 or 360 games. I know they are getting close.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
