New face but not by Psy

Picoboot and a clear Faceplate. Unpopular opinion: manufacturers should bring transparent plastic back.

Make it simple. If it's hard to label yourself, don't label yourself. Just try to be with whoever makes you happy.

Component cables, a PS2 erotic adventure.

So I bring my PS2 from my old man's house into my little classics constellation. Order a component cable and a FMCB and SATA adapter, life gets in the way, forget about it for a couple of months. Come to plug it in, no signal. Google for it and apparently I have to switch to the 'Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr'...

I love how this ended up looking but I don't recommend to others. The lids don't stay in place and it doesn't come with a disc drive protector.

Well, yeah, a CRT would smooth the image a bit, both before and after the RGB mod. We wouldn't see it as pixelated. That's why most people into retro gaming love CRTs. I, in the other hand will take an LCD panel any day, even if it looks more raw. Main reason is that I don't miss the days where...

    RGB 64

A minor RGB mod on my Nintendo 64 this weekend: Before: After: The result is a a more sharp image with much more vibrant colors. The trees look more pixelated because there were pixels you just couldn't see before. Noticeable improvement in the arrows and the bubbles, and I'd say...

Thank you. I've been hunting on eBay for a while now. I wanted an NTSC console, USA usually have it more expensive and imports are heavy. Japan on the other hand tend to have much more affordable prices and often sellers offer free shipping. I could have bought one sooner for that price if I...

With working (he didn't stated otherwise), rare and even moded Gameboys. One of them had "The Wave o Takinawa" shell alike the one I applied to one of mine recently and it wasn't particularly cheap compared to the alternatives. The stupid thing is that he could accomplished exactly the same by...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
