    Missing in action? No!

I know that some of my friends here at GBATemp have been wondering as to where exactly have I been since departing abruptly many months ago. Recently, a few have managed to remember my e-mail address and have asked that I, at the very least, say something...anything really...to those who I have...

Misc Wi-Fi Nights Game Suggestions Guide

After spending a few months in the official #GBATemp-WiFi IRC channel, I have noticed that many members have shown a level of unawareness about all of the games that are quite enjoyable over Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection. At times, they are not clear what each game offers in terms of gameplay...

Hacking G6 DS Real USB Reader

Several months ago, my reader (the solid black casing version similar to what is pictured) died. The card is fine, as I had it tested with another local owner, so let's not go off point about this fact. I'm not certain as to what exactly is wrong with the reader. The information about...

    Parents: Fear depression, not gaming

R.I.P. Brandon Crisp We learned of the story of Brandon Crisp through international media outlets as well as GBATemp members alerting the community of this tragedy. A 15 year old boy was reportedly involved in a dispute with his parents over the claims that his overuse of playing the X-Box 360...

And now for something completely different...

Been awhile since I done a blog entry, since the last one was...ugly. I've decided to put it into the past and move on. I hope everyone else involved does the same. Just a warning to share: If anyone decides to bring that back up again, then expect it to be moderated. It's over. Now...

Misc DS Games Not Listed in FC Database

I've been updating and cleaning up the Wikipedia DS Wi-Fi Connection List, and upon doing so, I've noticed a few games are not listed here at GBATemp. While I am sure that some of these are not exactly highly rated or may not have versus or cooperative play, they could be worth adding: AMF...

    Homebrew NEO·DS Conversion Guide

WARNING: It has been brought to my attention that MAMEDEV, the team that is owed thanks for the wonderful emulator, has been updating the NEO·GEO sets in recent updates. So, if your MAME ROMs are current, then you may find some games not working whatsoever. Hopefully, the upcoming v.2.1 (no...

    DrKupo: You're Not Wanted Here

As some of you are aware, I have been reinserted into GBATemp's staff as one of the GBATemp IRC Operators. Being a former magazine staff editor and channel operator for the now vacated EFNet channel as well as many years of experience elsewhere, the powers that be, such as Costello, Narin...

Hacking DS - GBA Linkage Guide

Recently, I was prompted by friends to show them which DS games have the DS - GBA Linkage options. For those who are unaware, having cooresponding games provides bonuses within certain DS titles. I was a bit disheartened to find that the Wikipedia entry for them had been deleted. Whether this...

Team R4: Wake the (Censored!) up!

About this time last year, R4 was arguably the top slot-1 flash card in existance, if not one of them. Along with its sister product, M3 DS Simply, it reigned supreme in the marketplace with a hold that no other could come close to achieving at that time. Rivals, such as ROMMAN's SuperCard or...

Hacking Return of TheSpade - CycloDS Edition

http://thespade.ndsthemes.com Been awhile since I've done some skins due to a furlough, but the recent acquisition of the CycloDS has rekindled my past-time for skinning. The majority done thus far has been repackaging my R4 skins, but with the detailed menu and cheat icons, even my oldies...

    Good-bye flash cards & GBATemp

NOTE: Before anyone is quick to claim that this is some sort of prank, I am in no way a fan of April Fool's Day. Therefore, you can bank on every single following statement. I also don't care if the CNet acquisition of GBATemp is true or not, and that had zero influence on my decision...

Hacking G6 DS Real Vs...who cares!

This nonsense of M3 DS Simply / R4 DS versus G6 DS Real needs to stop, period. I don't care how minor of an observation is being made. They're all manufactured by GBAlpha. One's removable media, whereas you choose what size and speed your memory will be. The other's an all-in-one package...

Zelda-modded DS Lite up at eBay

Zelda-modded DS Lite up at eBay It's so beautiful... Normally, I don't post news about modifications of DS units, but this example begs to be looked at with tears of joy. This individual modded a DS Lite .. yes, Lite .. with a Zelda theme, including a metal shield that lights up...

G6 DS Real v.1.2 System Files Released Just a small fix GBAlpha has released the latest updated files. There's a reported bug fix, but again, without a change list, we have no clue what bug there was nor could I find one during my play of v.1.1. Also, don't forget to check out the...

    DS Linker 16Gbit Review

DS Linker 16Gbit Review Official GBATemp Review The biggest complaint about internal memory flash cards have been their limit in size. While we have seen this particular product before in other forms, such as DS Fire, Express Card, MK5 GIGA System, N-CARD, Ultra Flash Pro EX, etc...

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
