Thanks for the replies, due to my motherboard model, this unit is patched and cannot be hacked correct? Which also means i could not create a nand backup either?
Hello all,
I have a switch here that powers on, and gets stuck at the Switch Logo upon boot.
I have fixed nearly identical issues in the past by replacing the M92T36. I swapped the IC on this unit and there was not change in the issue. Before the swap, i tested voltage to pins 5 and 6 and had...
I replaced the alleged DC/DC converter and had no change unforunately. At least its not worse than it was. I cannot be 100% sure my swap was flawless though. Back to square one for now :(
Oh boy watch your step, however could you take a look at the other post i tagged you in? I found a chipped component and am likely going to replace it tomorrow. If you have any advice on that it is appreciated :)
The issue with the joycon has been fixed which you can take a look at the previous posts It was fixed by repalcing a mosfet. Thanks for the advice though!
@SolidSnakeUk89
So I have a working LCD, checked the diodes and they seem good, as well as the inductor passthrough components and those seem alright. I suddenly noticed something i didnt see before, what appears to be a damaged IC near the LCD clip. It looked like a piece of glass was wedged...
THanks for continuing to reply,
I have fixed som bent pin LCD ribbon clips before, and also replaced one entirely. I checked for bent pins
I have checked the test points near the LCD, one of them is ground. Out of the other 4 2 pins have 1.8V, which i also tested on another board and that...
I have actually 2 separate Stock Firmware Nintendo Switch consoles with the same issue. This issue is not 100% consistent, sometimes it happens sometimes it does not. When the consoles work, I can power them on, and play them for hours but as soon as i press the lock button, I am unable to...
So... This is awkward. I had a friend help me with the reassembly and ive encountered a new problem. The unit appears to be not displaying video in handheld mode. The back light is coming on, the unit is booting since i can use the touch screen, and also outputs correctly through docking...
Swapped M92 and was successful, pins must have crossed in the broken USB-C and damaged the IC as well. Thanks for the help, now i have a new way to test M92 minus just looking for shorts :)
It was honestly a long shot, since the switch was charging the joycons i wanted to try and avoid things i knew were power related.
I noticed that the PU chip i replaced and the other one in the picture which is marked MX are on both ends of the board each on the opposite side of the joycon...
I reallllly hope it is not the MAX77621AEWI, I don't think im capable of swapping it.
Perhaps ill try one of those mosfets and just hope for the best, and if not maybe those smalled BGA chips Agilato mentioned
Thank you for this reply, i have a USB c multimeter and i was getting no reading with the switch, unfortunately it wasnt turning on with the NSW ac adapter so i used my pc usb.
Took out the board, no corrosion.
Assuming i checked the right pins on the m92, i have .291v on pin5, and virtually...
I like this thread so i will ask for help here regarding a non charging switch.
Switch powers on and had physically damaged USB-C port. I replaced it (as I have maybe 15 times before) and i am not getting a charge in either direction of the usb c cable. The fuse near the port is good, and im...
I am going to look into the ICs you are reffering to, and maybe try a swap. If im unsuccessful i assume the functionality will not change hopefully.
And yeah i figured that too since it never know the joycon is connected to the console so youd be stuck at initial set up.. Ill take a look soon...
Any ideas from anyone? I tried looking for shorts in the connector for the joycon but they all seem normal. Anyone know what IC controls them?
*fancy bump
Are you near sea/salt water, or in general they just don't last. Sounds like if you driving a mercedes, you need a garage. I get snow n ice here so nothing worse than clearing that shit off at 6am rushing to get to work.
