Hacking Discussion SX OS - Error and Solutions Thread

I wish I had checked my SDXC card right away like I read fairly soon into troubleshooting. It showed my 200GB from Amazon was actually 32 :/ All these days of piss farting around troubleshooting everything else and it was just the card!

Homebrew RELEASE ChoiDujourNX - a system firmware installer homebrew for the Nintendo Switch

I'm an idiot... my 200GB SDXC card turns out to not be 200GB at all but a fake 32GB one. After so many issues I finally ran h2testw over the whole card and it confirmed - only the first 32GB worked, the rest all failed. No wonder all those Firmware update files kept going missing after copying...

Hacking [List] Games required Firmware version

Just wanted to add I was able to play Wonderboy: Dragon's Trap on 3.0.2 rather than the 4.0.1 suggested in the OP

Homebrew RELEASE ChoiDujourNX - a system firmware installer homebrew for the Nintendo Switch

Sorry to ask if this is clear somewhere but it just doesn't seem to be clear anywhere I can see: How can I get a firmware from an xci image so that it's usable in ChoDujourNX?? All the guides seem to miss this step. [edit] I have one method that gets me the files but they get scanned by Choi...

Hacking [QUESTION] SX OS Emunand is safe to prevent recent pokemon/tinfoil/etc bricks?

I think there's a point that people are missing here... yes the data for EmuNAND is stored on the normal partition as a file, BUT - and this is the clincher - when EmuNAND is enabled and you boot from SX-OS doesn't it mount the files in such a way as to use the EmuNAND files instead and mask the...

Homebrew RELEASE Yet another XCI Cutter (Multiplatform, written in Java)

Yeh random applications of any sort are. We don't allow that - it's mandatory under the security standard we're meant to be complying with - application white listing. Everyone is getting paranoid about security lately so we get pressured from above more than ever for any unpatched vulnerabilities.

Homebrew RELEASE Yet another XCI Cutter (Multiplatform, written in Java)

Ah thanks - sorry I thought I had tried with -jar initially but I think that was when the path was finding the 32bit java.exe instead. That worked. Yeah it's not that we use java ourselves - it's that the products we use need it often and being a security focused enterprise Java is basically a...

Homebrew RELEASE Yet another XCI Cutter (Multiplatform, written in Java)

okie. Reason I ask is that we never use 64bit java at work - everything we need is 32bit (legacy management interfaces) because tbh java is cancer and we tend to avoid it like the plague :/ update - nah doesn't work still. I assume that doesn't have an installer? The one I got from there was...

Tutorial How to get exFat working on any custom firmware

Hmm not working for me with two different cards - 32GB and a 200GB SDXC. I have a suspicion there's something wrong with 3.0.2 and exFAT, or at least 3.0.2 + exFAT patch + SX OS. I can't think of any other possibility :( My last resort is just to install a newer firmware with EmuNAND.. but not...

Homebrew RELEASE Yet another XCI Cutter (Multiplatform, written in Java)

I had the latest Java already Aah.. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Cannot load 64-bit SWT libraries on 32-bit JVM at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Library.loadLibrary(Library.java:256) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Library.loadLibrary(Library.java:236)...

    Homebrew RELEASE XCI-Cutter tool (Windows)

It does but won't launch. It keeps generating SD Card read errors - yet this is in 2 different cards. Both formatted FAT32 with 32k clusters using guiformat. Interestingly even single <4GB xci files now get that error. Is it some issue with 32k clusters and 3.0.2? Trying to get exFAT working...

    Homebrew RELEASE XCI-Cutter tool (Windows)

Can this be made to work with SX-OS yet? I tried 2.4.2 and using 32k clusters on 2 different cards - same deal. I'll try 2GB as suggested earlier and see if that helps, but I need a different tool to do that size right?

Homebrew RELEASE Yet another XCI Cutter (Multiplatform, written in Java)

Running 2.0.1 SXOS here and even tried the latest beta but I got SD card reading errors in CFW for a XCI Cutter 2.4.2 image of 7.43GB. I'm 3.0.2 firmware atm with what I thought was an exFAT mod via PC but it might be broken. Getting "Error: Could not find or load main class...

Hacking Discussion SX OS - Error and Solutions Thread

On 3.0.2 I think patched with exFAT but not really working. My 32GB card formatted FAT32 won't read a split xci game made with XCI Cutter v2.4. Gives SD card read error.

Hacking Question Switch "update" for SDXC / exfat?

I followed that but still get errors, though at least it seems to sort of read it. That adds exFAT support but does it also mean SDXC support too? I'm on 3.0.2 and I get the impression after patching that it's not fully supported still - I can view stuff but not open my XCI title and I get...

Tutorial How to add exFAT support to the Switch Console on any OFW without update!

I think this sort of worked for me but not quite (option a). I get an error trying to read the card in CFW, though the card is fine as SXOS is able to boot from it and read/write to it as I used their NAND dumper. It was version 3.0.2 and I followed the instructions exactly as far as I can see...

Hacking [IMPORTANT] PSA: AutoRCM battery warning

So... for ELI5 sake.. if you have AutoRCM you have to charge it while it's on? It can still sleep to do this though right?
