    Gaming Gateway Cheats

... kind of... I've never been able to find the offset so please bear with me. So here's the deal. Every match/stage/etc is instanced. Which means the data during each match is dynamically allocated. So it changes for each match. How does that help you? Well... [trophy time min] D3000000...

tales of phantasia jp GBA mGBA cheat file generator

I just went through the EU version of the game to check the codes. First off, wow is the localized version hot garbage. I don't think I've ever felt that a game has ever been ruined that badly by a localization. Graphics being cheapened down, some tile memory straight up missing, can't change...

tales of phantasia jp GBA mGBA cheat file generator

Sorry, programmer habit. Always set expectations and all that. So, by pure coincidence, my wife started playing TOP on PSX with me. And, for the most part, that's how I found the codes on the PSX version. The memory structure is mostly the same. The one difference so far is that them number...

tales of phantasia jp GBA mGBA cheat file generator

Noted. Let me rest a bit and then change that tomorrow. I know the page seems simple, but it was a good amount of work to get all the things like code validation, code entry tracking, address increments, etc. going and then make sure all the codes are correct. (I kept spreadsheet of almost all...

tales of phantasia jp GBA mGBA cheat file generator

Thank you for advice. Agreed. It's not as important to me about popularity as it is getting the info out of my own laptop. This is a lot of data. The good thing about this is that the addressing offsets for this, it's NA or EU counterpart is that it's usually only off by a few bytes. I would...

tales of phantasia jp GBA mGBA cheat file generator

Hi everyone. My first thread here, please take it easy on me. I like Tales of Phantasia. Like, a lot. And I have a lot of cheat codes for the GBA Japanese version (sadly, I lost a lot of my PSX codes due to a hard drive crash). And in order to preserve them, (and there's so much it doesn't make...

Emulator CHX file collection for Snes9x_3DS & PicoDrive_3DS

I'll find some Sonic 2 & Knuckles cheats when I get the chance next.

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Whelp, finished upgrading. Citra still can't run mgba. But I was able to generate a mgba cheat file. It's as I theorized, go into the emulator and generate the cheat. It'll be named <game>.cheats. The resulting file is plain text but does have formatting.

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

According to the forums and Profi2000, pretty much: 1) make a cheat file on the PC version. (i.e. get a cheat code for a game. Open a game in the emulator, enter and save the cheat code. It'll create a file with the same name as the .gba file but with another extension.) 2) make sure find the...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

From the IRC channel: (09:18:07 PM) sleepingkirby: Hi. Does anyone know why mgba doesn't support cheat codes on versions outside the pc version? It is a technical thing or is it just something like the interface wasn't made? (09:33:49 PM) profi200: I think it's just the cheats menu that's...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Yeah, that's a better idea than me just going through code again. Guess I'm just use to doing first before asking. I did find this: https://forums.mgba.io/showthread.php?tid=4978&highlight=cheat I'm in the middle of upgrading my OS. The latest linux citra requires higher versions of libc and qt5...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

*skims through code* So, as far as I can tell, it's in the core of the emulator. I'm guessing it doesn't have an interface to it. The compiled version doesn't run on my 3ds emulator (what I use to test picodrive). I'll update it tonight and see if I can run mgba for 3ds in some capacity. If I...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

I think it already does? The repo says cheat support. I'd test it out but I don't have a new 3ds. https://github.com/mgba-emu/mgba/blob/master/README.md I can't tell (not in the mood to scan through code atm) if that's for all compiles or just select compiles.

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Well, I figure I might as well do GBA next. Though Tales of Phantasia is going to take a day within itself. It's my favorite game so there's a lot. I have the memory mapped for items, item slots, skills, exp, stats (here's a fun fact. Just about any character in that game can use any magic...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Were you ever like, "Man, I wish I had a cheat code for Monopoly or Clue on the SNES." Of course not. But apparently I did... Here's the rest of the SNES cheats that I felt were worth passing on. The rest are pretty generic. Yes, there's a cheat code to move as many spaces as you want in Clue...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Do you mean the "new" line? Like "new 3ds" or "new 2ds"? Because, if so, Bubbles did: ./3ds/3dsmain.cpp:737: osSetSpeedupEnable(1); // Performance: use the higher clock speed for new 3DS. ./cores/picodrive/pico/sound/sound.c:499: // Low pass filter for New 3DS (44 KHz)...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Honestly, I've lost a fair amount over the years. But here are the ones I fixed the emulator for. No doubt people over the years have found some of the same codes. But more redundancy, the better, I feel. Since programming is my hobby and my job, they'll describe what the address (and values)...

    Homebrew [Release] PicoDrive for 3DS

Not much. Bubble2k, on v.94, implemented cheats. The game genie codes work fine (they look like this ex. ABCD-EFGH), but any Pro Action Replay codes (they look like this FFABCD:0001) that start with "FF" crashes the system. I fixed that. That and finishing his implementation for codes like this...
