Hello guys,

I've been trying to install Luma on an Old 3DS XL. Normally, I always verify that Luma ins't Installed... but this tim I did not
The thing is, in the process I usually do, I update to the latest firmware, then I format the device, and then I install luma.
So I updated the device and formatted it... and after that, black screen when SD card is inserted before boot. When I boot without SD and insert it, the device cannot access the SD at all.
I realized I did not verify whether luma was installed or not and... surprise! Luma 6.6....
Now i'm at the latest FW with luma 6.6 installed, I don't know how to do to update it at all...
Could someone give me a hint?

Thanks by advance

Try another FAT32 (and checked with h2testw or F3) SD card and update to B9S once the SD is properly detected.

I'm going to try that, thanks a lot mate :)

Edit : Unfortunately, i'm following every step but i'm stuck when it tells to re-insert the SD card and boot while holding "Start"...
I've tried with 3 different SD cards, nothing works. I'm sure my start button is working, i've tested it in a game. I don't get what's wrong
I've also tried with the A9LH from luma 6.6 just to be sure... still nothing...

Sounds like a hardware problem with the SD reader.

Can you access anything like GodMode9 or Decrypt9 without SD by holding (Start)? To see if the SD can be mounted after booting.

I don't think it's an SD reader issue, it detects the SD insertion/removal and every pin seems in great shape... I've already cleaned it.

I can't access any of these as the payloads are supposed to be on the SD card...

It DEFINITLY was a SD reader problem. I didn't see one pin was too low and not making contact.

Now the 3DS boots even with the SD inside. I still don't manage to access the boot9strap installer but i'll insist !

On the other hand there are those chandeliers with like 50 lightbulbs and that would be a bit expensive to replace with smart bulbs.

Anbernic's SP clone will be $60 and I think I'll buy it. Looks decent enough and it will stop me from drooling over every single new handheld that comes out.
