Misc cannot connect to wifi

In settings says that my ds (dsi xl) is connected, but when I try to use ftpd it gives me an error message. (don’t know about other apps)

Wifi_InitDefault: error


any help would be nice.

I'm not sure if that's the error it would display, but ftpd (and all other currently existing DS homebrew) only allow for the DS WiFi capabilities, meaning a WEP or unsecured connection, and 802.11b. Does your WiFi meet this criteria?
