Yes Final Fantasy VII would be great. The game didn't receive any love on the switch! You have the old remako HD mod and more recent OGfield or Satsuki Yatoshi Mod - SYW V5.65! Im sure this is the same process than Final Fantasy IX with the mogury mod.

It can be, but nowhere soon.

There was recently update for backgrounds on PC that also removes gray edges completely. I don't know if this will work after downscaling.
And don't expect it it anytime soon, I have other plans first.

Hi, can you guide me on how can i decompile the bin files from mogui and downscale them? i want to remove the grey bars but i don't know how to start.
