Homebrew Misc How the heck do I use Code Downloader?

I've downloaded Code Downloader and Mega Code Downloader. Both don't work. They're in the right folders, they can be launched from HBC, but when I try to interact with them, nothing. My Wii remote gets disconnected and won't respond to a button input. The player lights on there are also off. I can't use either of them. Other homebrew apps work (Like USB loader GX and homebrew browser) and allow me to use my wii remote but these ones won't. I've also tried connecting one of my other remotes and they keep blinking but never connects. Does anyone else have any of these issues?

BTW: I'm on patched IOS80 on vWii/Wii U
