Is there or will there a way or an app to defragment the ps3 hard Drive?

A while back I installed evilnat custom firmware on my ps3 then I forgot about it I wanted to play online recently so I updated my system and now it wont boot to the login screen. Is there anything I can do? I can still get into safe mode.

Is it recommended to just reinstall everything after a while? To do a clean install.
