Hi,

Hope this is the right forum but feel free to point me in the right direction if not. I'm having trouble getting online with my Wii I that was previously working ok.

I've had a read around and seen that a few people have had similar issues in the past.

It won't connect to my router and on the few occasions where it has, it won't then connect to the Nintendo network on MK8. From reading what others have tried previously, I've deleted all the WIFI connections & setup a new connection. Testing it seems to work fine one minute but not the next & I keep getting the error code 103-1601 or 1602. I've also rebooted the router and tried the Wii U with and without a HDD plugged into it.

Nothing has changed in terms of the router setup/location etc. I'm stumped! Can anyone help so I can get a game of MK8 online?

Thanks

Mike

It sounds like an IP conflict, based on some quick Googling. I would try the following:
  1. Power off the modem and router.
  2. Delete all internet connections from the Wii U
  3. Do a full shutdown of every single device in your house that connects to the internet.
  4. Wait a minute.
  5. Power on the router and modem
  6. Wait for the internet to come back on
  7. Power on the Wii U
  8. Setup the internet again on the Wii U and see if it works.
You should also make sure your Wii U is updated to the latest system version.

Thanks, I've done all that and I've now tried to connect to my phone as hotspot with no luck either and the same error code. I'm running 5.5.2E with Haxchi, is it safe to update to the latest version through the official channels?

In fact, scratch that, I can't even connect to the router so I don't know how I'm going to update!

Adding to this in case anyone has a similar problem, I recently ran into this issue and nothing seemed to fix it until I unplugged my USB drive. After some testing, I found out that it only occurred when my USB drive was on top of my WiiU. So if you're having a similar issue and the above solutions don't work, try moving any devices connected to your system!

Usually when such a big title leaks the Temp will be the first to report about it (going off of historical reports here, Pokemon SV being the latest one I can recall seeing pop up here)

I want a 120hz 4k tv but crazy how more expensive the 120hz over the 60hz are. Or even more crazy is the price of 8k's.

No real point since movies are 30fps
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Not a big movie buff, more of a gamer tbh. And Series X is 120hz 8k ready, but yea only 120hz 4k games out right now, but thinking of in the future.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I got my Dad a firestick for Xmas and showed him those 3rd party sites on Kodi, he loves it, all he watches anymore. He said he has got 3 letters from AT&T already about pirating, but he says f them, let them shut my internet off (He wants out of his AT&T contract anyways)
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I had to find and get him an old style flip phone even without text, cause thats what he wanted. No text, no internet, only phone calls. Old, old school.
