To those who have never heard of lutris : it's a sort of launcher of launchers. Don't want your games spread out over humble, gog, steam, epic, retroarch and who knows how many other launchers? Lutris aims to bring a unified 'click to start any game' feature by hiding the launch of specific launchers in the back (you still need to have them, obviously).
I admit it's one of those Linux projects that's on my 'to check' list, as I don't need it for steam and wine/crossover games that 'just work', and it seems (still) too complicated for using (let alone creating) scripts so games start with certain parameters.
But when talking steam deck, you can either see it as competition (a 'store' showing not only steam games but other stores as well), or as a compliment (easier access to your games). Well... Valve is certainly in the latter camp, as they have the creator a steam deck.
