The main post has a link to a tutorial.
Alright I manage to edit the save file but once I transfer it and play it, my save file is no longer there in game. Did I do something wrong? I use JKSM to create a backup copy and use that to edit the COLONY0 file, after that I rename the file to 00000001.sav and transfer it to the Nintendo 3DS folder

You need to reinject the save file using JKSM, otherwise just renaming it as you have will do nothing. And reinject keeping the COLONY0 name

None. I'll try using Checkpoint
When ya select titles. You click on the game your wanting and press A. it brings up save data, select that. Choose the folder your game save is in. And there is a list below. A select. Y restore. X delete. Sel. file mode. B back.

You hit Y with the file you have edited and it restores that to your game.

Alright Checkpoint works. To anyone wondering how I do it, just do the following
1. Go to Checkpoint and create a backup copy of your save file
2. Use SD Card adapter so that you can edit the save file from your SD Card
3. Open your computer/laptop and open the village save file editor
4. In the top left of the save file editor, click file and open and go to sdmc:/3ds/Checkpoint/saves/BRAVELYDEFAULT/ click and open COLONY0.sav
5. Once your done editing, put your SD Card back to your 3DS and open Checkpoint
6. Click Bravely Default and and choose restore.
I feel totally dumb, How do I use the program to edit my villagers? not sure where to find COLONY0.sav at on my computer
I made a guide here. Check it out

    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.

    This one lady... her son kept installing Kazaa... OK no problem the issue is he would download DBZ movies and they where amazing usually like 2-8KB in size lol can't remember how many times I had to format and reinstall windows over his stupidity. I even explained to him about file sizes multiple times...
